Most Wanted is a story about Han Solo and Qi’ra, who we’ve first met in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Tsuulo, a new character. Han and Qi’ra get send on a mission, which goes horribly wrong. Now, with the help of their friend Tsuulo, they have to set things right again to go back to their old lives with the White Worms and to get the whole system, including the Empire, off their backs.

Personally, I really enjoyed Solo. I’m not sure we really needed it, but it was a fun story and the explanations given made sense to me.
I feel kind of the same about Most Wanted. It definitely was not needed, as it had no bigger impact on Star Wars, Han Solo or the Solo movie, but it was fun to read.

I really liked the characterizations of Han and Qi’ra.
Han was described as the risk-taking, improvising one, who relies on his luck and charm.
Qi’ra was described as the strategic one with the smart plans, secretly dreaming of living a luxurious life.
I think the characterizations for both were quite fitting, introducing character traits, without developing them too much, fitting very well to the movie.

But I think there also lies an issue with the book. It’s a prequel to a prequel. Solo had to be careful not to overdevelop Han, so his character would still be fitting in Episode IV. Most Wanted had to be even more careful with the development of Han.
This led to the story being quite ‘small’. It was almost completely about the Corellian system, much of it in the underground. It was weird seeing a big and legendary hero like Han Solo struggling with ‘small’ missions and problems like here, even though only logical.

Tsuulo was a nice addition to the story. Him being a Rodian as a main character also led to more alien representation in Star Wars media, which it is sometimes lacking. I liked the character, but as he was never mentioned again, you could guess from the beginning where his story might go and I was quite disappointed that in the end, there was no surprise.

The story is fast-paced and easily written. As the book is quite short, you can easily read it in two or three sessions without getting bored.
It’s not the most epic, exciting book, but a fun, well-written adventure with Han Solo and Qi’ra, so everyone who likes them will probably enjoy this book.
It’s not that I don’t like Han, but he isn’t the most interesting character for me. It was a fun read, but that’s why this book is not a personal highlight for me, but I can acknowledge that it was well-written, so I think Han fans will like it.

Another fun story. The book is a quick read, however there were a some dull parts that I had to trudge through. I love getting to see a young Han Solo in this story. Lovely addition to the canon literature.

This was fun! The audiobook was also very cinematic which I appreciated!

A relaxed and easy read, but the poor writing was difficult to overlook. Very vague and poor depictions of characters in my opinion. It almost seemed geared towards a younger audience than that of YA. Still somewhat enjoyable, but very lackluster otherwise.

Good fun adventure that gives us more backstory for the Solo film. Author Rae Carson has a good handle on the young Han character and the friendship that grows between him, Qi'ra and Tsuulo feels genuine.

Some great action sequences and the whole thing moves at a quick pace without sacrificing character moments.

I really enjoyed Solo: A Star Wars Story. While that movie showed the end of their time on Corellia, this novel gave great insight into the beginnings of Han and Qi'ra's relationship on the streets of Corellia, and life under the slimy thumbs of gang leader Lady Proxima.

We see that, despite his slickness and cynicism, Han has always been something of the hero at heart, characteristics we see reflected when we meet him later in life in the Star Wars movies. Qi'ra is a bit more pragmatic, less trusting and more wary and realistic when it comes to dealing with others. In this book, we see Han and Qi'ra becoming friends and learning to trust one another and learn from one another. Han is impulsive, very much living in the moment and connecting easily with others through charm and swagger. Qi'ra is more of a cautious planner, keeping things close to her chest and people at arms length. As they are thrust together on an adventure that puts them on the run from a number of criminal organizations, they discover that by combining their talents, they get much further together than then would on their own.

This is a fast-paced tale that sheds some light on the relationships we see in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but also works as a gripping tale in its own right.

I loved Qi'ra in this! ALSO TSUULO AWWWW. Also Han???? It was really nice reading Han where he isn't the MOST ANNOYING AND PETTY after the last couple of Star Wars books I've read.

It took me a bit to get really into it, and some of the ending was kinda weird?

This book was a fun quick read aimed at the 6th-8th grade ish crowd, I think? Or maybe even up to 10th? Han and Qi’ra meet and go on adventures. Gives some context and setting for the Solo movie, but also could be missable if you’re not interested in going deep on Star Wars.
