This was an interesting Doctor Who book, I feel like very little happened in the story and yet it similar to others in the series. The concept was interesting enough though; aliens harness children’s nightmares, making them take form, in order to create a terrifying body for their ‘god’ who’s mind has been trapped within that of eight humans.
I found it a bit weird how the children accepted Rose into their gang, she may not quite be an adult but she certainly isn’t as young as all the children in the village. However I did like the children, particularly Ali. Ali was the real heroine of this story, if it wasn’t for her
SpoilerRose would have remained trapped in the mansion, and they wouldn’t have been able to turn the aliens machine off.

I liked the fact that Bronwyn was made young again; so that she can enjoy her life now that she is no longer tormented by have part of an alien’s mind trapped inside of her. It was a little unusual that she also ended up pregnant, presumably with a replacement Jimmy, I’m not quite sure how the alien’s machine backfiring was supposed to have caused that.
I enjoyed this book for a bit of light reading and in total it receives three stars.

This was an okay Doctor Who Nobel but it’s not one I’ll pick up again. I liked the concept behind the story as I find anything dream-related interesting, but the Doctor & Rose didn’t jump off of the page for me, like in some other novels in the collection. Mike Tucker is definitely a good writer though & he was really good at putting a picture of the setting in my mind!

⚠️ Mild, bloody gore, monsters from your nightmares & references to ill mental health ⚠️

This was quite interesting and I found the mixture of monsters good but I must admit that the angle they took to explore the Time Lord aspect more interesting. I liked the plot and I liked how it all came together in the end.

The most well-written Doctor Who book out there. I don't care- it got the tone of Doctor and Rose perfectly, I loved the all the details that he put in, the setting and the plot were great, and as if that weren't enough, there was a lighthouse.

É tão estranho ouvir o líder dos Krillitanes dar a voz ao Doctor e Rose (embora ache que ele fez melhor a voz desta última).
