Here are reasons to read the Contemporary book:

Games Shows - Charlotte has wanted to be a contestant on a game show her entire life and has studied up.
Partner - She gets accepted to one and finds her ex-boyfriend is not only a contestant as well, but also her partner
Ethics - They have a lot of old feelings but try to make it work. But this story, at the heart of it is about their own ethics may be a sticking points

I felt like this book was a fun premise with the game show, and I was interested to see how they could hold up an entire story with this plot. It was enjoyable, and it did bring up good points about morality and truthfulness. I was glad to see that the plot wasn’t hitching its wagon to miscommunication as so many do. For me it was a solid contemporary book and an easy read.

I thought the game show premise was so cute. As a long time game show lover, that is honestly what drew me in. It is also a relatively unique setting for a book which was very compelling. I’m not usually a fan of second chance romances and I don’t think this one has converted me but I definitely thought it was cute.

There was a lot going on throughout the book which occasionally distracted from the overall storyline - family drama on both sides, game show set drama from the producers, not to mention the FMC and MMC’s own drama from their pasts.

I wish this had been a little more fleshed out as the book itself is fewer than 300 pages or the number of side stories pared down. It was like a little bit of a lot of things.

Overall, this was a cute second chance romance set on a game show (which is the best) and the witty banter in front of tv cameras is producer gold.

I loved the premise of this book and am personally a huge game show fan too, so I wanted to love this a bit more than I ended up actually liking it.

I just think the main character is too old to not have developed any level of nuance in handling honesty and moral goodness. I found her stubborn and myopic.

I found the FMC to be annoying and childish. Like I am not convinced at all that this is a 30-something-year-old woman.

I also found the writing itself to be very elementary like something I would’ve written in second grade.

Thank you net galley, the publisher, and author for providing me a complimentary e-ARC. This review is voluntary and mine alone.

Immediately, I was taken by the premise of this book. Game shows, enemies to loves with history, second chances... it all sounded so promising! Plus, the title. Every time I think of it, I think of...

Let's get Quizzical! Quizzical!

This story has a lot going for it. I loved Charlotte's family banter and Eli's love for his dad shown by supporting him so he doesn't turn to illegal activities again. I enjoyed the story arc and watching the characters grow. Charlotte comes off a little stiff in the beginning but does get better. It's just her personality.

The only major negative thing is for some reason the formatting in my e-copy was messed up. There were parts of the book where there was only one word per line.
It
looked
like this.
But of course, that may just be my copy, and may not reflect the final version, as this was an ARC. Therefore, the odd formatting I found on my device did not affect my rating or how I felt about the book.
