Un clàssic que tothom hauria de llegir. És dur, hi ha moments (el primer paràgraf, per exemple) on la lectura és complicada per la descripció d’abusos. Però és una historia, un llibre, necessari. Veure el procés de creixement de Celie és inspirador, tot i la cruesa del relat. Un llibre sobre resiliència, l’amor entre germanes, l’abús, i el creixement personal dels personatges.

Beautiful; I cannot believe I haven’t read it sooner. But unfortunately, I didn’t love it as much as I had hoped. Still, it was a breathtaking read and it is important that others read it.

I loved this. It’s so important to read. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and makes you laugh and cry.

no words can describe the beauty and immense joy it was to read this. its very sad that no film adaptation has been able to handle the emotional queer lesbian love story at the heart of it all.

Reading this was such an experience. The book follows Celie as she navigates her life's hardships and eventually finds peace with her own spirituality, sexuality, and sense of self. Walker is able to imbue each letter, even those that are a single page, with deep characterization while maintaining the first person POV. It does discuss a lot of difficult subject matter (including on the very first page), so please review content warnings. 

I read this at an infrequent pace due to participating in a larger book club, so I'll definitely have to revisit this in a few years. I would highly recommend everyone to read this though!
