Marisa de los Santos has been on my radar for quite some time now and I'm glad to say that I have finally read one of her books and am looking forward to reading some of her past novels.

In this latest story, readers learn about the life of Ginny Beale, told through flashbacks to her high school days and from her present day life. When the story begins, Ginny's marriage has hit a huge road block and her mother is terminally ill.

Gradually readers learn about Ginny's past and how a tragic event and a doomed romance have shaped her into the woman she has become. As Ginny deals with the loss of her mother and her marriage, she begins to understand how those past hurts have affected her current relationships and she begins to make amends.

I loved Ginny's relationship with her teen daughter and how she affirmed her feelings and gave her the freedom to express herself. Ginny also had a group of friends that anyone would love to have--especially Kirsten. But what made the biggest impression on me was the relationship she had with Gray, her first boyfriend and her first heartbreak.

If you need a story that's full of nice characters and not too heavy on the troubles of life, this is a great choice. Their troubles are not sugarcoated, but they are presented in such a way that shows they're not too big to get through.

Many thanks to William Morrow for allowing me to read an advance copy and give an honest review.

I’d Give Anything pairs beautiful writing with an unputdownable story. The story follows Ginny and her family as they deal with the effects of current heartache and a life altering tragedy from the past. Told in alternating storylines, combining diary entries and present day narrative, this novel explores regret, forgiveness, and the effects of long held secrets. This refrain of, “I’d Give Anything,” is a moving declaration of sorrow over the past and the hope of restoration. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You know how sometimes on the back of a book it has some big Hallmark-y question like "How far would you go for love?" It kind of feels like the great Marisa de los Santos decided to experiment with starting there instead of with Philadelphia cheese shops or mean neighbors...The experiment was not successful. Please go back to whatever you did for the Love Walked In series. There was enough drama there. It was fine. We didn't need to keep losing Bad Men.

Not as breathtakingly whole as the "Love Walked In" books, but a solidly compelling read with interesting and enjoyable characters and enough plot to keep you involved. I like that you have an idea about what could happen but it's not teased in an overt way, or purposely misdirected just to go A-HA with some ridiculous obscure outcome never mentioned before. I like a book with a satisfying denouement. I read the jacket when I was done, and…may I recommend you don't. I hate book jackets. They're never quite right. Anyway, it was a good kick out of my slump and finished in one sitting. Thank you Marisa de los Santos!

Well I enjoyed three of the authors previous books very much, I’d Give Anything is a disappointment. The story moved at a glacial pace and never developed to any depth. The ending was obvious to me from the beginning of the book. Hopefully, I will enjoy her next book more than this one.
