Zhen was a precious flower and too good for Xian. I didn't feel that they had a solid relationship. Xian was busy with being a prince so I felt they didn't see each other very much at the beginning. I don't know. Just fell flat for me in their relationship and then there were like 8 twists in the last 10-20%. I don't know. I loved Zhen and his sister. Adorable duo.

* Summary: Prince Xian hunts the white snake who saved his life (and consumed a magical cure for his mother’s devastating illness) several years ago. Meanwhile, transient stable boy Zhen hides a secret identity of his own.

* Stats: Historical Fantasy, MM, closed door, stand alone.

* Notes: I enjoyed this - although I am not familiar with the original legend. I found the setting interesting, although moments of the character development were a bit clunky (how many times must we be told flat out how the MMC has slept with so many people? There’s no issue with it - it’s just unnecessary for the author to repeat quite so many times). My primary complaint would probably be with the ending which resolves very, very rapidly with something of a bait and switch in a style that I really just don’t enjoy.

i would die for zhen and you should too

anyway bruh this was a ride, started as a 4 star read, then flopped down to 3.5/3.75 somewhere in the 50-70% mark and then rlly took me by surprise by the end again

wish there was MORE build up between zhen and xian but thats just my slow burn yearner loving heart needing it‘s fix 😔

Gostei muito.

Demorei um bocadinho a entrar na história. A escrita é boa, mas por alguma razão não achei a mais fluída.

Gostei muito das personagens e de todo o enredo, só não fiquei a maior fã do final (goi fofo, mas não sei...) Gostava de ter tido um bocadinho mais de desenvolvimento em certos momentos da narrativa.

Mas de um modo geral gostei mesmo muito e é um livro que sem dúvida recomendo.

Fun, easy read. I started the book and couldn’t put it down, it just so happened that I was on vacation and could actually sit down and read for so long. The main characters were fun, Prince Xian is a complicated and horny man whore, Zhen holds so much guilt for something he didn’t even know about but still finds it within himself to be horny, Qing is so silly and funny and real. The other characters aren’t as developed as those three, I wish the book was longer to really flesh out some parts of the story and add even more life, but it’s already an entertaining read as is.
