The best resource I’ve read for people who are on the tenure track and hate it and for those who been trapped in contingent positions for years. Heartfelt first-person accounts of coming to terms with leaving academia and practical advice on ways to find a new and more satisfying career. This should be required reading for grad students, graduate faculty, and university administrators. It’s a powerful indictment of the way American universities are failing their graduate students and of the ways universities exploit nearly everyone.

An affirming, helpful guide to doctoral life outside the academy walls written by people who have made the transition. It's one thing to hear "it's not your fault" about not getting tenure from your mentors, and quite another to experience it with practical advice from other recent PhD(and equivalents) with the same experience.
