A super cute insta love, with flawed traumatised characters, one our MC Chloe, a geeky internet savvy boss, has a debilitating chronic disease that has made her shut off from life and only a close call with death makes her reconsider her path and make a list of daring things to do. And, then, we have our ginger boy Red (the irony) her building’s superintendent, a heavily tattooed babe with biker jacket and the whole bad boy aura, who suddenly becomes the vehicle for Chloe to tick off some of the list’s items, but he too, as previously mentioned, has a traumatic past, and his heart and soul are damaged by a previously abusive relationship which is why is hiding in the current job when he’s actually a talented painter.
Soon, the list will make little sense to Chloe, life will be more than it, much more, and both our characters will be left dazed and unsure how to proceed.
I really enjoyed this romance even if it is very instantaneous, by the way, it does happen in real life you know. It was also great to address things left out of most romances and stories in general, like severe chronic illnesses, the effects of it, the loss of friendships due to lack of understanding and respect, and more, and also abusive relationships where the man is the victim. Chloe is also described a Black, soft and curvy girl, on the heavy side, which is always great for diversity and inclusion. It’s important that everyone can find someone they identify with in fiction. Also, the interactions between Red and Chloe felt so real and candid, and he is great, and the smut is well written not too overwhelming, although it’s not something I’m overly fond of when it’s a lot, and it is a bit. Plus, it’s funny and witty, even with the heavy subjects also dealt in it.
It’s not a masterpiece but if you like the genre you should definitely give it a go. It’s not my go to genre but it’s one I enjoy to read in one sitting which I did.

Really loved the representation, the conflict was predictable but I liked the ending.

this book took me a long time to read because of a slight reading slump and a busy life. the book itself is no way to blame as it was absolutely wonderful!!

firstly, the representation in this book !!!! AHHH *chefs kisses* ! you do not see a lot of books with mc’s who have chronic illness or are plus sizes, and talia tackled the topics so perfectly. not just with chloe, but red too!! i wont go into detail about that because it will spoil some of the book.

i absolutely adored both chloe and red, separately and together !!! 🥰 so many emotions while reading this book. maybe i should find someone to help me get a life!
