It was an interesting story but I could get into it at the time I started it.

Aquele do menino da trupe que acaba indo para a universidade que ensina simpatia. Maravilhoso.

Incredibly poetic writing, the author does an amazing job at building the scenes in your mind and offering a glimpse into the characters’ worlds.

I’m really not sure how I feel about this? I didn’t not enjoy it; I wanted to see where it was going. I know it’s the first book so I do feel like it was doing a lot of ground work laying and world building. I do want to read the next one but I’m not convinced yet? I can’t say I loved it

I think I'm too used to reading YA fantasy. This was wayyy too long for me to love it. It's incredibly detailed with descriptions of the events in Kvothe's childhood. I'm glad the story was told in a past-and-present way: the grown-up Kvothe telling the story of kid and teen Kvothe to Chronicler. I probably would have gotten bored of the story if it was told right from the start of Kvothe's childhood. I do find his life devastatingly interesting, but I couldn't find myself being attached to any of the characters. However, something about the writing kept me reading anyway so I didn't take too long to finish reading. It took about 30 pages for things to start making sense and for me to get into the book. I'll still read the next book to find out more about the next part of Kvothe's life, but i think I'll have a break from reading heavy fantasy like this for a while.
