I can't disagree with other reviewers who found the way Fronczak went about investigating his mysterious childhood to be insensitive and selfish, but I'd be lying if I said I couldn't put this book down and that I would instantly devour any subsequent books if he finds more answers!

story felt long and drawn out which was his experience so I could've forgiven that. However, the author was difficult to empathize with at times because of how he treated others along his journey.

This is a surprising memoir that was both fascinating and heartbreaking. The complexities of what happened to Paul, the real Paul, and so many others that he met along his journey to find out who he is and what happened to the real Paul. Well written, and if you do read the book do read the update that came after this was published. But don't read about it yet! Read this book first!

I listened to this as an audio book and there was a lot of information and was a little hard remembering who was who. Reading the physical book may have been a better choice. I do like genealogy and do my own family research so found that aspect of the book very interesting. I was a little disappointed with how the book ended.

I have never heard a story quite like Paul's. It is interesting and relatively easy to follow but like many true crime books left me feeling slightly unsatisfied because there were still so many questions unanswered. I hope that in the future they find the truth.
