Whenever people compare books to Jane Austen, I generally think they don't understand, or perhaps have never even read Jane Austen. The only thing this book has in common with anything written by Jane Austen is that, in both cases, the authors first name begins with J.
This book is fantastically heavy-handed in its humor, and almost all of it is absurdly on the nose and fantastically tongue-in-cheek. If you read the blurb on the back cover and thought, "Well, that's a bit much" know that it's way more than that. Not only does it run the joke to death, it then dances on the jokes corpse, has sex with it, then buries it.
It's not bad but it's not memorable for anything other than the authors attempt to take a bunch of weak jokes way too far.

5/5⭐️
regency pip and ravi take on a knives out themed murder with so many twists and turns I had no clue where this book was going and was shocked with every realization made which doesn’t happen often for a mystery book

A fun and quick read. For those that love ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ you will see some parallels.

4.5 stars, thinking of giving it 5, if it wasn’t because I figured who the murderer was early on. Loved the main characters and the bridgerton vibes. Can’t wait to read book 2.

If Agatha Christie, Georgette Heyer, and Monty Python wrote a book together, surely it would be this. Delightfully quirky and absurd and perfect for those who appreciate a dry, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
