What an action packed and fun little book! It is a Regency era murder mystery with some supernatural elements(?). It had the drama, the intrigue and the Darcy-esque character, all while not getting too deep. I had a great time escaping into this one and I'm looking forward to the next one.

In the spirit of this novel I shall say that it is SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL! It is PURE dramedy with no lack of LOL moments. So over-the-top, so ridiculous, hilarious and full of twists and turns. It was fun reading this and I definitely had no lack of entertainment. In fact this was TOO entertaining that it sent my ADHD brain into overdrive and I had to take a break a few times lol. Other than that it is honestly just super enjoyable!

Once the characters stared trying to solve the murder, the clues and mystery were well-written. But the period backdrop was ham-fisted at best. Naming the murder victim Mr. Croaksworth and the manor house Stabmort were just stupid and over the top.
Such a fun read! Seales effortlessly weaves humor and sarcasm into this murderous/whodunnit plot with just enough sprinkle of romance thrown in. It's one of those books that you just can't put down.
