I've been looking forward to this book for a while now and it sure didn't disappoint. I of course have read the Hunted Series and Empire High along with Men of Manhattan and The Society, (ok let me be frank I've read all of Ivy Smoak's books) but what I'm saying is that I very connected while reading Scarlett and The Kiss Thief. The whole time I felt like a proud Auntie seeing her babies all grown up. The writing was magnificent you just can’t help but connect with the characters throughout the story and like always laugh along with them. I loved seeing each one of their different personalities and how much they are like they parents (poor Daphne 😁). I also love the little surprises that where thrown throughout there's one too many times I jumped up screaming from excitement from the revelations. If you're a fan of the Hunted Series you'll definitely love Scarlett's story. And if you haven't read it then what you waiting for go and and start the series.

“What if it wasn’t Jacob? Or Axel? No matter what, my first kiss had just been stolen by a...a...a dirty kiss thief!”
This was such a fun read! I loved going back to Empire High and hanging out with the new generation. I read the novella for this years ago and was so excited when Ivy Smoak announced she’d be releasing a full novel.
Scarlett and her cousins and friends are seriously all over the place. I laughed so many times at their hijinks. Scarlett has had a crush Axel for forever and she has decided that this year, their senior year, is the year they will finally be together and the year she has her first kiss from him. So she and her cousins Sophie formulate a plan… a plan to get the guy. This is where all the crazy begins. In the middle of putting their plan into motion someone kisses Scarlett in the dark, stealing her very first kiss. Now she’s on a mission to find out who it was!
This is so reminiscent of Ivy’s Empire High series. When I received the ARC of Scarlett I had only read the first four books in the series. So after reading Scarlett I went back to finish the series, reading books 5-8. There are so many details in Scarlett’s book that throw you back to the Empire High series, which makes total sense since these are the children of all our favorite characters from Empire High. So if you love interconnected stories and you’ve enjoyed Ivy’s previous books, you’ll definitely enjoy diving into this new generation. There’s a little love triangle between Scarlett and her two friends, Axel and Jacob and honestly I’m rooting for Jacob because I was team his father for the Empire High series. :)
*Thank you Ivy Smoak and Grey’s Promotions for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*

Review:
"Scarlett and The Kiss Thief" by Ivy Smoak is a quick and enjoyable read that centers on Scarlett, a high school senior determined to win over her longtime crush, Axel Stevens. After a summer makeover, she's ready to make her move and finally get her first kiss.
The story is engaging, and Scarlett's determination makes her a relatable character. The book ends on a frustrating cliffhanger, leaving you desperate to know who stole her first kiss. Though short, it’s a delightful read that will have you eagerly waiting for the sequel.

So happy to be back with the Hunted and Empire High world!
First, if you think you have read this, it was first a novella and has now been turned into a 3 book series. This is book 1 of 3 of that series. So yes, you need to get this and read it.
James and Penny Hunter’s daughter, Scarlett, is a senior at Empire High. We follow her and her friends, Sophie, Axel, and Jacob through those first few weeks of their senior year.
Love this so much! My heart is so happy to read about this next generation. Whose team will you choose?

Oh Scarlett!!!
Such a good light hearted short about Scarlett's first kiss! We all fell in love with James and Penny... And their daughter is now a senior in high school and trying to navigate love! Loved the interactions between all the kids of the originals. Definitely worth the read.

Scarlett and the Kiss Thief by Ivy Smoak
Ivy released the first few chapters of this novella previously and extended the story! It’s so good!
I loved the glimpse of James and Penny as parents and Scarlett, Axel and Sophie all grown up. The story left so much to be desired and I can’t wait to see where Ivy takes it.
Such a fun novella !

I’ve been waiting for this story ever since the novella dropped—and let me tell you, Scarlett and the Kiss Thief did not disappoint when it came to sweet teen angst and that delicious dose of mystery. If you're a fan of masked kisses, anonymous texts, and a heroine who’s finally ready to claim her spotlight, this one's for you!
Scarlett is the kind of character you root for from page one—relatable, awkward in the best way, and painfully aware of the heart she’s pinned on her friend Axel. And while she’s hoping a summer glow-up will finally make him see her, fate has other plans… starting with a stolen kiss in a dark closet that throws her entire world upside down. 👀💋
I don’t typically gravitate toward low-spice, younger YA reads, but this one held my attention with the tension, charm, and of course—the mystery kiss thief. Was it Axel? Someone new? The guessing game is half the fun here, and even though I found myself craving a little more screen time with the mystery guy (the party had a bit too much Jacob drama for my taste), the ride was still really enjoyable.
💥 Shoutout to SOPHIE—this girl owned every scene she was in! Total firecracker. When she’s getting her own story, consider me first in line.
In short: Scarlett and the Kiss Thief is a cute, fast-paced, low-drama mystery romance perfect for fans of football teams, friendship tension, and the magic of a first kiss. A lovely choice for readers looking to dip into something fun and flirty—without diving into the deep end of spice.
