Every time I picked up "A Summer of Dandelions," I didn't want it to end AND I kept thinking about it when I put it down. Also, this is a self-published debut!!! I will definitely be reading the next book in the Meadow Hills series when it comes out!!

LOVED:
- Addison and Perry <3 Their chemistry was SO GOOD. From their cute texts to their support for each other's goals to their fake dating/engagement but actually pining for each other, these two were made for each other. The boss/employee trope sometimes feels weird for me, but this one felt so natural. And I also think I'm now a big fan of the single dad trope hehe
- Sometimes I don't think authors write realistic kids but THESE kids were perfectly written. Mischievous and naughty, but also sweet and hilarious. I love how Addy shows them they deserve love after their mom left them and they way they loved Addy was so precious.
- NO 3rd act break-up (can we get a hallelujah?!)
- The ending was perfect.

LIKED:
- I don't know much about pageant life, but Addison's perseverance through the struggles and her connection to her grandma was sweet.
- The faith content was just enough to not feel overwhelming but enough to feel realistic and important to both characters.
- The pacing was great.
- Addison's penchant for sundresses was adorable.

MEH:
- Nothing major! I just didn't really understand Asher's abrupt character shift at the end of the book.

Sexual content: NO explicit scenes. Book opens with Addison getting a pregnancy test. Discussions of abstinence before marriage and regret over breaking that vow. One fade to black scene at the end.

Also, the cover is stinking CUTE!

*Thank you to the author for an advanced electronic copy. All opinions are my own.

My favorite quote:
- "The house was my dream for the longest time. But it's not anymore... Not since you gave the word dream a whole new meaning." *SWOON*

I received this as an ARC and, unfortunately, the heavy themes of religion did not work for me. I wish I knew that was going to be a theme so I could’ve determined this wasn’t for me.

If you like themes of religion, or they don’t bother you in your romance, then you should pick this up!

Thank you to the author for a copy for review!

A Summer of Dandelions by Whitney Amazeen is the perfect summer romance novel. It has a sweet romance between two likable characters, who have a great chemistry and who are just perfect for each other. The fake dating trope I just loved. The writing style is flowing and you constantly root for Addison and Perry.

A Summer of Dandelions is a cute heartwarming novel, a feelgood book I enjoyed reading very much.

Firstly I want to thank Whitney Amazeen for this ARC. Thank you so much 🥰

I find this book hard to rate because as much as I enjoyed it there were some things that I personally didn’t like.
But first the good things. Addison and Perry were such cuties the whole book I couldn’t get enough of their flirting, I adored how he called her bunny … so cute. I also absolutely loved the small town vibes in this book, especially with the pageant component. It really felt like I was in a small town. Perry’s kids were just adorable and really well integrated into the book.

Now to the thing I didn’t like, and that is just a personal preference, is the religious part in the story, its a small part in this book, but I myself am not religious so I couldn’t relate to anything in the scenes where the characters talked about their belive in god or things related to their believes. It isn’t something that was pushed upon you what I really appreciated but it just wasn’t for me.

All in all I would definitely recommend this book if you want a super cozy book, with cute and well written characters and a good plot, with hints of Christian themes.

I am so grateful to have received an ARC of this and all opinions are my own,

This story was so cute. Perry and Addison immediately had flirty banter, even though he fired her. I love how she was able to jump right in and find her place with his kids. And they did not make it easy. I loved how Perry was so all about Addison and willing to give up things he wanted just to be with her. It was great from start to finish. I’d highly recommend.

I was probably not the correct audience for this book because when I applied for the arc I was sold on the fake dating trope and I was not under the impression it was a Christian romance, so I was surprised during the first couple chapters when several Christian elements were brought up.
Regardless, I still decided to give it a fair chance.

For me, the main characters ultimately fell flat, it was like the one thing they wanted was their only personality aside from them being extremely attracted to each other. It was also a pretty fast paced book and quite predictable. Addison especially just baffled me when she was more worried about paying her entrance fee for the pageant than her rent, like girl be forreal!!

I’m giving it an extra point because there were definitely some cute moments, it did seem like they cared about each other. And when Perry’s kids came into the picture, you can tell Addison belonged with them because of course the kids loved her.

This book wasn’t bad at all. It was just… lacking. It *could* be better. Regardless, it was still a cute and lovely love story between Perry and Addison, and of course, the kids. The beginning definitely felt a lot like “The Sound of Music,” and I’m not complaining. It’s literally one of my favourite movies/musicals. You know, everything just felt fast. And I know there are books out there where the characters fell in love literally 30% into the book but at least theirs felt like it had a natural transition. But, it was still cute. I would read Whitney’s future works after this.
