Such great insight into trauma and the impacts on who we are as people. If you want a fabulous and insightful take on how to be more trauma aware and informed, definitely check this one out. Will be one I refer back to on multiple occasions.

I really appreciated the way trauma was explained and broken down in this book. It pays to take your time with it, though.

This book… just wow. The ending had me so emotional with Oprah singing and talking to her mom, a person that caused her trauma. So powerful. Honestly, I can’t recommend this book enough. It was recommended to me by my bestie and it came at the right time. I learned so much and had so many “ah-ha” moments about trauma and how to move forward.

“You simply bring here, alive, is enough.”

“The pain was necessary in order to know the truth. But we don’t need to keep the pain alive in order to keep the truth.”

“What happened to you can be your power.”

Edit: if you read this book, listen to the audiobook…. It was soooo good. And felt like they were speaking to me at some points.

what happened to you can be your super power. you have to stop the bleeding of the wounds from your past or you’ll keep bleeding today. really interesting audio book - felt like a conversation or long podcast. good balance of stories and psychology
