Liv is a recent divorcee, kicking butt with her baking company, and secretly still wants to make music. Jax is a famous musician. During a meet and greet for his band (Midnight in Dallas), there is an instant attraction. The rest of the book follows the couple as she heals from the hurts caused in her previous relationship and he deals with loss. They learn to make beautiful music together.

For me personally, this book was just okay. I liked the characters and the premise but insta-love isn’t my favorite romance trope. I loved that Liv eventually grew to love herself and her music again. Overall, this book was cute and sweet and perfect when you want to read something Hallmark-ish.

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved getting to know Jaxon and Liv! I laughed and cried and it made me want to take a trip to a bakery In Nashville! I’m excited to read more about the characters in future books!

Such a feel good book. It made me feel fuzzies.

It’s not steamy at all but it didn’t need it. I loved seeing Liv become her own person and not just fall in love with someone but fall in love with herself.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This was a stereotypical musician meets aspiring star love story. There was no conflict until the last 10-15% of the book so it felt a bit hallmark-y to me. Easy to read, pretty predictable. If you need a comfortable love story check it out.

Okay so I honestly didn't know what to expect when it came to this book. I was scrolling through instagram the other day and saw an ad for Melissa Grace and an arc for her newest book, Long Way Home. I loved the cover and it looked cute so I was like hey why not, I'll apply for it. To my surprise, I receive an email the next morning finding out I was approved! I was very excited and then realized there were 2 books that came before it and best of all they're free on kindle unlimited, so I of course started reading Home Is Where You Are almost immediately.

The book is set in Nashville, and ironically I had just gone on a trip there in early July and absolutely loved it, so I was even more excited to read the book. To say I loved this book is an understatement. Olivia is such a real character and I feel that everyone can find a way to relate to her. Jax is such an amazing man and his words have a way of making your heart happy. I loved that you could see other potential relationships blossoming in the background (my hope is that they'll be the topics of her other 2 books).

Overall I LOVED this book. I immediately messaged Melissa on instagram after finishing it and she actually responded saying I made her day where she made mine just the same. It is always so great to not only read a great book, but also be able to interact with the author. I simply cannot wait to read the next 2 books in the series! A big huge glowing recommendation for the Midnight in Dallas series and Melissa Grace!

I can always get behind a story set in my hometown of Nashville, but then you add in smart, snappy banter, donut puns aplenty, and friends who are more like family? Consider me hooked! I fell immediately, not just for Jax and Liv, but for all of Melissa’s fun, quippy, flawed, lovable characters and can’t wait to see where future books take them all!

i’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now, but somehow it got lost in my tbr and i forgot about it. that was until I received an ARC for the third book in this series the other day. because of that i decided it was time to jump into this series and boy am i glad i did!

this book was so sweet, cute, and funny!! ALL of the characters are super likable and i loved how they quickly became acquainted. I am most excited to see Dallas’s story (that is if he gets one like i think he should). this book moved fast and that’s one reason i loved it. there was never a point where i was bored or the story dragged on. i loved the pace of the book and couldn’t put it down.

this book is for you if you love everything music (especially country) but there is all kinds of music referenced in this book, Nashville, Tennessee, age gap, found family, and so much more to be honest. this book even brings awareness to endometriosis, something i’ve hardly ever seen mentioned in other books. this book does touch on substance abuse and it may be important to search trigger warnings for the book.

I’ve been in a weird reading rut lately and this book may have just put an end to it. i cannot wait to continue on to the next book :)

So many laugh out loud moments. I love Jax & Liv, but if it weren't for the hostile kitty (Mama) would any of it have happened? The supporting characters are amazing. This read is a full tribute to the adage "family is what you make". The cast of characters diverse in personality, but living each other fully & unconditionally.
Set in wonderful Nashville, music is one of the main concentrations with chase your dreams & believe in yourself the central theme. I loved all of those aspects of this read. Follow your dreams & if you can do it with a best friend like Elle, even better.
Very romance, mushy in several areas which isn't my favorite, but all the rest made up for it. Absolutely recommend & now on to #2 in this series!
