Couldn't put it down! Loved the character of Josie. The book kept me guessing until the end, which is unusual. Off to read the follow up now.
dark
emotional
mysterious
fast-paced
I try to always go in blind to book, it makes it more I don’t know entertaining. It is just how I like to listen. Anyways this book threw me for a loop.
At first, I didn’t know if the narration of Josie was going to work for me but once I got into it I got it. Callie is a pretty great narrator after what I just listened to I am a fan for life. Obviously they picked just the right narrators for this book. I mean Teddy was totally Zach.
This isn’t a book for the faint of hearts, the subject matter is disturbing and it had my heart racing a few times. I thought I knew who it was but I didn’t. I mean I REALLY thought I knew!!
I didn’t expect to tear up or even have a few of the watery buggers fall. The selflessness, the strength I don’t know that I could have done any of it. Great book, incredible story, and wonderful characters.

really good
This was great. I loved the back and for the between Before and After for Josie so we could get the whole picture and how everyone ended up being connected in some way. Although at the end when Josie answers that phone call and goes to that game I was enraged because why would you put yourself at risk like that. I’m glad she made the right decision about her son in the end. Ugh anyway this was fantastic and I look forward to the next one.

Sweet, dear Mia Sheridan, DIY Queen, just chilled me to the bone. Holy cow! Where the Blame Lies was different from anything I've read of Mia's before, but this is one of my favorite things about her as an author - she's versatile!
As soon as I made time for this book, I was hooked. I couldn't find any desire to put it down and was constantly looking for little snippets of time to read this story. Josie's trauma was heavy and hard to bear, but it felt wholly realistic. I was inspired by her determination and will to live. She was far from perfect, but she inspires readers with her fierce humanity and ability to love.
I love a good Romantic Suspense and this was one of the best I've ever read. As soon as I thought I had the story pegged, it shifted and left me guessing again. I was certain I had this one figured out in the first few pages and was surprised to see I was completely wrong. The best thing about this book was just how clearly it was written. Each character jumped off that pages and allowed me to see them and their actions clearly, as if they were actually moving before my eyes. This book had a Silence of the Lambs feel for me, which allowed me to picture it much like the movie itself. In fact, this would be an excellent movie, albeit incredibly difficult to watch, if every scene were included.
As always, after I read a Mia Sheridan book, I always want to gobble up everything I've yet to read by her as fast as possible. She's a dynamic writer and consistently inspires the deepest of feelings to surface as I read her stories. Luckily, there's another book in this series coming very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

I cannot believe cooper….. that imitation is lowkey creepy
This was a heartbreaking yet fantastic read. Josie’s story is incredibly moving, but her growth is beautiful. Zach was wonderful, acting as the protector Josie needed. The plot twist had me completely hooked, as my suspicions were wrong throughout the book, which has never happened before. I can't wait to start the second book and see where the characters’ journeys lead.
