I really enjoyed the author’s way of writing. It was easy to get immersed in the story and I found myself wanting to keep reading. There are lots of beautiful quotes/phrasings in this book and it touches on dark and serious content in a raw, empathetic way. However I wasn’t as emotionally invested as I thought I might, which is unfortunate because I really wanted to feel with the characters. Still would recommend it, but check the TW’s before.

this was… a journey. a healing journey, written in the best way possible.
charlie deserved so much more than what her past gave her. such a young girl, never really getting to experience her childhood and teenage years. the quotes were beautiful, yet heartbreaking. reading about the events of charlies life.. once something good happened, it was crushed. but she healed. she healed without the magic of love. she did it herself. and seeing her thoughts and struggles, i could feel them myself. and you can notice that the author lived thru something similar, because it’s written in such a heartfelt way. one point, why’s there a girl named linus? and a dude named riley? lil confusing at this point.
I’m happy with the way it ended.

Holy shit, this book took me months to read, and i assure u the long breaks inbetween were necessary, but whenever i  d i d pick it up again, i couldnt put it down. Its heavy, and hard, and s o worth the read, this isnt a story shared w u, its a whole entire life, packed in neat pages full of neat words.

Sad, triggering and beautifully written. I understood Charlie to an extent and felt for her pain. All my love to those whom the character of Riley brought back painful memories.
