Interesting book--I suspect the author is a 12-stepper, given the advice.

Has a lot of strategies for increasing the four components of EQ, but to get the most out of it, you should definitely take an EQ self-assessment first, or the 50+ strategies can get a little overwhelming.
I was hoping for something a little more science-based, with studies and more phycological information.
Instead, this is a large list of ways to improve your emotional intelligence. The list is grouped into four parts of emotional intelligence -- self awareness and self management, relationship awareness and relationship management. And part has 15-20 ways to improve that facet of your emotional intelligence.
I don't disagree with the book - I picked it up because I'm a fan of "EQ" and wanted to learn more about it. The trouble is that there's both too little information and too many points to remember. The book is very surface level, with many of the steps to improvement being common sense or things you were taught as a child. (Count to ten, put yourself in their shoes, etc) And it's primarily a book of these tips, not deeper information about EQ. Most extra information is based on their company's studies.

I’ve had this on my TBR list for a long time, and decided I wanted to read it at the start of this year. It was clear and concise, something I can refer back to easily. There are 4 main areas of focus, and within those 4 areas, each has 15-17 ways you can go about increasing you EQ in that area.

It was a nice sampler of EQ strategies, but I'd like something more in depth.
