This book is a masterpiece. Bloodwitch takes the characters of the Witchlands on emotional journeys, heightens the stakes, and expands the world. This story complex yet fast-paced and strikes a perfect balance between being character focused and plot focused. In fact, Every POV is engaging, emotional, and has major importance within the story. Susan Dennard is a masterful storyteller and I’m always in awe at her beautiful writing and her ability to plant important seeds throughout the series. Like the previous books in the series, Bloodwitch made me immediately want to reread so I could take notes and form theories. I loved this book and I absolutely cannot wait for the next one!

Side note: While not technically required I strongly encourage everyone to read Sightwitch (the illustrated novella) before reading Bloodwitch. So many major plot points from that story come into play and while Susan Dennard is careful to fill in readers who might not have read it, you will definitely get more out of it if you do.

"Te varuje. I trust you as if my soul were yours. Aeduan had never thought he would hear those words spoken to him." - Susan Dennard, Bloodwitch

The best one yet! This installment was definitely a step up for me.

I was not prepared for that betrayal but I was ready for my Iseult & Aeduan moment. At this point I am so invested in the characters, I just want them to have a happy ending. I seriously think Susan is THE Weaverwitch. How does she write and weave 6 perspectives and storylines? I took numerous breaks yesterday because I was just overwhelmed by everything with my characters constantly on the run, the magical doors, treachery, the showdown between Merik and the Fury.... and the villains, they just need to die and return to the Void. And what the heck... The Rook king? I think I liked you better in bird form. I need book 4 soon, because I feel like I'm going to forget a lot of key information or I’m going to drive myself mad speculating lol.

I laughed, my eyes stung from sadness, my heart swelled from my favorite characters finding themselves, and I am trying to be content until this series is finished

Ahhhhhhhh I have such mixed feelings on this one. The first half was dry and felt like we were going nowhere. To be fair - they all start kinda dry in the beginning until the story gets rolling. This one however seemed to really keep rehashing crap we just didn’t need again

I will admit though, I was under the impression book 4 was the final installment to this series. Turns out - it’s not! So… guess I’ll forgive some of the slow annoying bits if it means we’re going to see more action coming up. Also less Merick please, like dear lord, let us just forget his POV. Ya know who I’d really like to get a POV from? Caden. He’s actually interesting & doesn’t have his head up his ass for 3 books.

Talk about a rush! Aeduan's story was one I've wanted to read ever since he was first introduced, and not only was I treated to a truly heart-wrenching backstory and a tale of overcoming doubt and societal stigmas, I got to read one of the most action-packed WITCHLANDS stories to date!

While Aeduan did the most growth, given how the book was centred around him, others followed their own path. Safi was trapped in lies and conspiracy and suffered a huge betrayal, while Iseult struggled with her new relationships and her ultimate goal. I was also happy to see more of Merik, though I'm still deciding if I liked his storyline or not. It wasn't what I expected, but it will definitely lead to some complex situations down the line. Especially given how it ended! Gah!

Still, Aeduan was the prime element of the book, which also featured virtually non-stop action from about the halfway point onward. Seriously, I was barely able to catch my breath before there were explosions, chases, near-deaths, chaos, and shocking twists. All of it leading to an ending that has me begging for more! I've missed this series and these characters so much, and BLOODWITCH was definitely worth the wait.

Oh Lordy, when I finished this, I immediately panicked. Surely this isn't the end?

Whew, this novel is not the end.

This story flowed at a crackling pace... every chapter created a cliffhanger. In this novel, Dennard created fine character development; characters came into their own. Action and craziness abounds. Bad turns good. Good turns bad. Betrayal hammers the plot.

But this is not the end. From what I read, book four is also not the end. Dennard has us like fishes on hooks.

Yeah, I already obtained Witchshadow from my accommodating library.

For some reason going into this I thought it was the last book of the series, but I'm SO GLAD it isn't. I love this series so much.

Bloodwitch is Aeduan’s story and even brings forth more revelations from Sightwitch. Unfortunately for me, there are too many characters in this series and all were separated from one another for the first 90% of the book. The last 10% is where everyone begins to cross each other’s path and the action quickly picks up. With the choice that is made at the end, I am interested to see how things turn out for everyone.

I am so excited to get my hands on the next installment. Finding out more about the bloodwitch and his back ground was so interesting. I also love the magic system in these books.
