My goodness, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. So many good quippy lines too. I really enjoy this characters and can't wait to see the finale of this love story as we finish in the Eastern kingdom!

While this book is still good and a crucial part of Kase’s and Malin’s story, it did suffer from middle book syndrome.
So in the first book, at the end, Kase has his memories “altered”, so in this book he is struggling in a new reality that doesn’t feel right. And that’s fine, that’s cool, I get that, you can’t just give his memories back after all of the stuff they went through quickly. But it took close to 70% of the book for it to finally really get going. Meaning, I was so bored the entire book until then. There wasn’t much action, just a lot of talking and reminiscing and trying to help Kase remember who he is/was.
I still like the book and will never skip it, but this is my least favorite in this series so far. Until that ending!!!! Omfg, I am now so excited for the next book that I ordered it immediately after finishing so I can start it as soon as it gets here.

I did not start this way. Over the turns, through cruelty, desperation, and tricks, this was how villains were made.
This is the price of loving someone. One day you could lose them. I make no promises that nothing bad will ever happen again, but I can promise you no matter what, I will always fight and claw my way back to you. Even in the Otherworld. That is my vow to you.
Better than the last book

A bit slow paced compared to the rest. Not a fan of the memory loss storyline but this wasn't the worst I'd read
