A little heavy handed at moments, but definitely packs a punch

My rating is mainly due to the audiobook not the theme of the book. I have struggled to get an immersive experience listening to this audiobook. As there was a lot of dialogue between the two characters - Iris and Geillis - with almost no narrative breaks, it was really hard at times to understand who was talking. I think this types of books would benefit from two distinct voices to help differentiate two characters talking to each other. It felt a lot like a theatre play, in the way that there was so much dialogue and exchanges rather than descriptive passages.
Apart from this, the story is about the horrors of the witch trials and the lengths the men would go to have a confession. It's bleak, sad, and at times hard to accept, it's a great account of historical events.
I didn't enjoy the audiobook, but I might try to read the book in the future to see whether I liked it or not.
