Whew Daddy Ford and Hollis!!! I loved these two so much. Their chemistry, their connection, the dirty talking and texting. I loved it all.

Hollis really surprised me has was such a secret golden retriever. I LOVED his self care routine and how he made sure to take care of Ford and really listen to him and his feelings. He played it off that he wanted nothing to do with relationships, but that man has a heart of gold and he loves so deep and hard. He fell hard and fast.

Ford was sucked right in to Hollis's charm and I love that for him. He deserved all the love and care that he got. I really enjoyed watching these two fall in love. They both really took the time to listen and their chemistry, off the charts! I mean that Daddy, moment 🥵

I have some thoughts on the next book and I really really hope I'm right!

This is my favorite Ashley James book so far! I loved and devoured this book. I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed the online dating/hidden identity aspects in the book. This book had me in my feelings, and it was emotional at times. I just loved Hollis and Ford together. Ford and Hollis had great chemistry. I enjoyed that they brought out a different side of one another. Hollis was my favorite, and I loved him. I also liked Ford a lot. The spice, though, damn it was hot. When Ford and Hollis admitted their feelings for each other, it was the cutest ever. The ending had me smiling and tearing up at the same time. I'm excited for Gentry's book to come out soon.

Thank you, Ashley James and The Author Agency, for an ARC copy of this book.

Back in Wolf Creek and falling hard for Hollis and Ford! 🐺💘
If you’ve read Finn (book one), then you already know Hollis is the charming, flirty troublemaker of the town. But this time, it’s his turn to get knocked off his feet.

Ford is newly single after a 23-year marriage and in no place to fall in love. He’s grumpy, guarded, and just trying to get through the day, until Remi (Hollis’s bestie) convinces him to try a dating app. And BAM sparks fly. Their online connection is fire, but when they meet in person? Straight-up explosive. 🔥

I adored watching Ford navigate dating again. He’s such a sweet soul who didn’t think he deserved more, but Hollis saw right through that. He challenged Ford in the best way and refused to let him hide from something real. Watching their bond grow, watching Hollis catch real feelings? Pure gold.

This book is low angst, sweet, funny, and full of heart. It was so good being back in this cozy, chaotic little town—and now I need Gentry’s story because that man is a walking vault of repressed emotions. 👀

recent divorcee Ford isn’t sure he wants to start dating so soon. with the suggestion from his lieutenant, he downloads a dating app and matches with flirty little Hollis. Hollis always thought the Wolf Creek firefighter captain was hot, but he was always off limits for being married and his best friend’s boss. when Hollis discovers Ford is getting divorced, his interest is peaked along with matching with a certain FireInMyVeins on a dating app…👀

this was a fun read! Hollis is so care free and has such a fun personality but I also enjoyed how mellow and lowkey Ford is. Larry was a fun addition and I loved how Ford basically adopted the old guy and had a soft spot for him. I am totally speculating granddaddy Gentry is going to be paired with Remi (Hollis’s best friend)

what to expect:
🔥 MM romance
🔥 cowboy x firefighter
🔥 online dating
🔥 best friend’s boss
🔥 sneaking around
🔥 dual POV

Wow Hollis by Ashley James was every bit ad spectacular as I thought it would be. I don't how she does it but her writing is just so captivating. Once you start reading you're just pulled into their world like you're there at the Ranch or the firestation. It's just truly amazing the talent she has. I loved every bit of Hollis and Fords story, even though they are complete opposites I love how perfect they are for each other. I also loved the fact that we where able to experience the pain and struggles that Ford went through. I think its amazing when authors don't put everything in a perfect bow and show that its ok to be vulnerable and allow the characters to express that. Definitely pick it up and while you're add it if you haven't read Finn pick that one up as well they are both amazing reads.

I ate this book up!! I was so emotionally invested. These men are complete opposites. Hollis is a play boy who has no interest in settling down, and Ford is someone who’s been in a relationship for so long that he feels like a fish out of water trying to figure out what he wants.

I thought the whole idea of the secret identity in this book fit well. I felt it was a good way to introduce all the insecurities that Ford had in trying to “get back out there”

I had so many emotions throughout this book. Hollis made me laugh with his antics and his flirtation, and Ford pulled at my heart strings the more he opened up about his past. I love that this series is so much found family oriented. The banter, the dinners, the cookouts, all of it is just so sweet.

Okay but I loved the spice in this book…😍 I love the way they interacted with each other. The way they tested each others boundaries. The push and pull really had me sitting at the edge of my seat.

Also…if Daddy Moore and Remi don’t get their story I don’t know what I’ll do…I’m SO here for that.

I highly recommend absolutely anything Ashely James writes. She can’t write a bad book if she tried. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!

🔥🐎🔥 Ashley James does it again! I knew I was going to love Hollis, and yep, I was absolutely right. If you read Finn, you’ve already met the flirty, confident, emotionally allergic playboy that is Hollis, and this book takes his charm, cranks it up to 100, and adds layers I wasn’t ready for in the BEST way. 💘

This book had everything:
✨ Secret identity texting on a dating app (YES PLEASE)
✨ Firefighter x cowboy dynamic
✨ Small town sweet goodness
✨ Daddy kink and age gap tension
✨ And chemistry that burned hotter than Ford’s firehouse 😏

Ford is broody fire captain perfection. He is divorced, grounded, quietly intense. Hollis is the confident, charming chaos tornado you can’t help but love. And when they match online without realizing who the other really is? Instant obsession. The texting, the sexting (so much sexting 😅), the slow reveal... it was deliciously angsty in the best way.

But it’s not just spice (though whew, it is spicy!). There’s so much heart here. Hollis has always kept things light; afraid of being left, afraid of feeling. Watching him unravel that and let someone in? Gut punch. And Ford, choosing himself after a long, draining marriage, and opening his heart again? Oof. Hit me right in the soft spots.

That said… full honesty? I loved this book, but I did feel like the balance between the sex and the emotional moments could’ve been better. A few of the steamy scenes started to blur together, and at times, I just wanted a little more conversation, more connection, more story. And whew, the internal monologues were LONG. Pages would go by without a single line of dialogue. 😂

Still, Ford and Hollis made me laugh, blush, and kick my feet and giggle. Their opposites attract dynamic worked, and the emotional growth from both of them? So satisfying. Plus, that first “Daddy” moment? ICONIC. Legendary. Top tier romance moment.

Also, I am officially starting the Manifest Gentry & Remi 2025 campaign because if those two don’t get a book... 😭

So yeah, Ashley James is in her cowboy romance era and I am HERE FOR IT. Bring on the heat, the heart, and all the Wolf Creek cowboys, please and thank you. 🤠🔥

4 stars because even with a few little bumps, Hollis and Ford totally stole my heart.

Thank you to Ashley James and The Author Agency for the eARC of this book.

“Ford is beautiful in the way dusk settles over the land—quiet, steady, and soaked in gold. He’s rugged, and gruff, and covered in wounds nobody can see, but he’s beautiful.”

This was so good! I knew after reading book 1 (Finn) that I’d love Hollis’ book and I was right!

Hollis is a cowboy and he does NOT do relationships. He’s cocky and self assured and knows how to keep life ‘light’ - never taking life too seriously. Ford is a newly divorced fire captain, who just happens to be the boss of Hollis’ best friend. Ford is always serious and suffers from not feeling seen after a long marriage turns badly. These two match on a dating app - Ford knowing he matched with Hollis and Hollis having no idea who the mystery man is. When they both know the truth - they know they should stop.. but they just can’t walk away from eachother even if everything points to it being a terrible idea to continue.

The chemistry? Fire. The dirty talk? Unreal. The flirting? Epic.
These two were so fun! I loved seeing Ford eventually let Hollis in little by little and I loved seeing Hollis realize his “playboy” antics weren’t what he wanted this time around. These two were the perfect ‘opposites attract’ and really brought out the best in the other!

Overall, I’m loving this series and I can’t wait for the next one!

What you’re getting:
Cowboy x firefighter
Secret dating
Small town
Age gap
Opposites attract
Best friend’s boss

“You don’t deserve to deprive yourself of love...”

I loved (is there a word bigger than love? If so, insert that word here) this story so freaking much!

Ford is going through a divorce and doesn't want to put himself out there yet, but since Remi keeps pushing him, he decides to have some anonymous fun on a dating app. Only he knows exactly who he's flirting with, even if Hollis doesn't know he's the man on the other side.

All the flirting and banter between Hollis and Ford is super fun and absolutely delicious. I loved the way that Hollis pushes Ford to not stay in his comfort zone and explore in ways that he wants, but doesn't because of everything he's been through.

Hollis is so much more than the goofy, flirty cowboy everyone sees. He's caring and listens and is there for you when you need him even without invitation. Hollis was everything Ford needed at exactly the moment he needed it the most.

Quote: “I love the way you came into my life at a time I needed you the most. You were a bright sun shinin’ through years of dark clouds. Hollis, you gave me warmth, and you reminded me what it’s like to be seen. But more than that, you gave me hope, and I don’t think you’ll ever truly know what that means to me.”

Characters: Hollis and Ford

This was such a perfect couple, to me. They are so opposite that they balance each other out.
Hollis is the flirty young playboy, and Ford is the divorced broody older fire captain.
And I love when the characters are talking online but do not know each other at first. I eat it up every single time.

There is so much chemistry between these two right from the start. Hollis is persistent while Ford is a bit more hesitant. His divorce left him a bit unsteady and unsure. To be fair, they are both dealing with some issues that are holding them back a bit. Daddy kink is not really my kink, but it fit so well with these two and was honestly hot. Both in person and through text.

It was exactly what I needed, low angst, humor, steam, and a great connection/romance between two characters I fell in love with. I adore these brothers, the town, and this series. I can't wait for the next one!
