This is the first audiobook by Brandon that I’ve listened to and oh my god, I’m absolutely hooked. I now see why people love him. mixing Brandon and Alexander together for this book was superior! One of the best casting I’ve ever read in such a long time.

From this lovely series, I thought I loved Finn the most, but no, this book is definitely my favorite in this series. I have never laughed so much and it’s all because of Hollis and his craziness. I loved me a forbidden/off limits romance.

Ford was so perfect from his broody demeanor to his serious one to just an all around lovely man. I loved how he was with Hollis and he was exactly what he needed to be able to be the man that he had always wanted to be. I hate what he went through in his marriage but I’m so glad he got away from the negativity. Because of that, he found Hollis, and man, they were fire together.

The start of the book was hilarious when Hollis had to call Remi because of the grease fire that started when he got distracted by the message from Ford on the dating app but not knowing it was him.

I had a few favorite scenes 

* The sunset scene (their first date)

* Hollis coming over after Ford had a really bad day

* Hollis high off his drugs and wanting Ford to admit his feelings in front of the family

* Remi and Hollis talking about his feelings towards Ford - freaking hilarious! Then… Remi following up with Ford and his intentions with his best friend.

* The Daddy moments

* And all the spice you could ever want!

Can I say I’m so ready for Gentry’s book and I’m hoping it’s with Remi because like, why not? Also, the found family in this book was absolute perfection and I love that we got previous characters too.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest review.

Hollis is a flirt. Ford is a grump.  There’s a 20y age gap. They match on a dating app, and for reasons (which to me actually seem quite clever) Ford keeps his profile anonymous, and Hollis’s is very open flirty and sexy. So, ford knows EXACTLY who he’s swiping on. This is the clever part on how these 2 start in a slow burn and anonymity allows for behavior that Ford, well he WOULD NEVER. It’s delicious. Once identities are revealed, they keep it all on the DL for romance reasons (TM). But as predicted, things have a way of revealing themselves. My favorite?  It’s Ford. It’s always the grump for me.

This is the second book in the Moore Men series. This one is about Hollis and Ford. Ford is the captain of the fire department. He has been married for almost twenty years and he and his partner are now divorcing. Since he’s been out of the dating field for so long he isn’t exactly sure how to put himself out there or even if he wants to. But his coworkers convince him to try dating apps. He does and he is immediately matched with a younger guy. The texts were so cute and hot they had me dying. I must admit sometimes I skipped the internal dialogue between the texts just to read the next text. Now Ford knows he’s texting Hollis so he really tries to be mindful about what he says not to expose himself. Hollis has no idea who he is texting until he spots a tattoo on Ford. This was a great story because Hollis is your fun go to guy who doesn’t really do serious, and Ford is all serious. These two were a perfect match. I like the developing relationship out of the app and the way they had to meet in the middle to make it work. This is a very funny, spicy, great story of two men finding love.

ARC Review: Hollis : 5⭐️

I was hooked from first swipe! This was a book that I was mad that I had stuff to do because i definitely did not want to put it down. I love good banter in a book and this did not disappoint! The flirty banter between KnokinBoots and FireInMyViens was everything I was looking for from and online dating story. Also they way Hollis knew from the beginning that this relationship was different and didn’t realize it, until it was pointed out to him is my favorite micro troupe.

After ending a 23 year marriage Ford is contemplating getting back into the dating scene after much convincing. After a night of drink he set up an anonymous dating profile, and who should appear Hollis. Knowing who he was he wiped right on him, never expecting him to be a match. 

Hollis is the twenty something year old town player. He is known for lack of relationship and plethora of hook ups. Only when he starts talking to FireInMyViens something is different he can’t put his finger on it. 

For Ford it’s new talking to someone online and he is not sure of the etiquette or what he is even doing. All he knows is that is easy to talk to Hollis and is not ready to give it up. That is until Hollis figures out exactly who FireInMyViens is. His best friend’s fire captain and boss.

This can’t continue anymore right? Wrong something about Ford and Hollis just seems to work. The more time they spend together the more fun they have, and the deeper they fall into whatever it is that they have.

Will this ruin Hollis relationship with his best friend? Will Hollis and Ford ever realize they are having more than “fun”? What is it too fast to jump into a new relationship after a divorce?

Hollis by Ashley James is a MM cowboy romance with best friend’s boss, age gap, firefighter x cowboy, hidden relationship and a whole lot of spice. 

We first met Hollis in book one of the Moore Men series. He is the carefree, fun-loving, impulsive younger brother to Finn Moore. In his own book, we get to see much more of his impetuous personality. If you’ve read Ashely James’s Copper Lake series, I’d say Hollis is Shooter’s long lost cousin. He’s an “act now, consequences later” kind of guy. And Ford Wesley, the fire captain of the local firehouse is just the kind of man he’s willing to suffer consequences for. 

Ford Wesley is 47 years old and newly divorced after having been married for over two decades. Dating life is nothing like it was before he got married. When his lieutenant convinces him to sign up for an online dating site, he doesn’t have much confidence that it will go anywhere. However, curiosity gets the best of him and after a few swipes, he sees a face he knows all too well. Hollis Moore. His lieutenant’s best friend, someone who is 20 years younger than him, someone he should stay far away from. 

This series is addictive. I loved Hollis and Ford so much. Hollis is a character who is hard not to like. He’s just out to live his life though commitment and relationships are the furthest from anything he’s looking for.  But when the insanely attractive fire captain takes an interest in him, something changes. Ford is the understandably grumpy character. He’s been through it in recent years and really is just trying to restart his life. When Hollis enters with his chaos and impulsivity, Ford is ready to run for the hills. But he can’t seem to get his body to agree with his head. 

This was a really fun read. These two have chemistry coming out of their ears and Hollis’s pushy personality over the very gruff Ford allowed for a nonstop push and pull dynamic between the two. I gave this book 4.5 stars.

Hollis is the younger Moore brother and is very happy-go-lucky. While he takes his life on the ranch seriously, he's very open and carefree, with a sunshine personality, who is very laid back in his personal life. He's the perfect man for Ford who is currently getting out of a long term relationship and needs a bit of fun in his life. The huge problem is, Ford is Hollis' best friend's boss and it could be a messy situation if his best friend ever found out, but that is a big if. Until then Hollis' biggest fantasy just might come true in the form of one hot fire daddy.🔥

Ford never imagined he'd be on a dating app, but here he was, in his forties, recently divorced and swiping right and left to find...honestly, he's not even sure. In Ford's every day life he's serious, maybe slightly grumpy, but he's responsible for the lives under his fire house and those that rely on him as a firefighter. He doesn't have time for lots of sunshine and rainbows. However, when he matches with Hollis, a man twenty years younger than him, he feels lighter and he smiles more than he has in years. He knows it's wrong, on multiple levels, but it's also impossible to stay away from the man who never seems to stop smiling.

Hollis and Ford would appear to be opposites in just about everything, but when they are together, they not only ignite the pages, or should I say sheets, they also find a friendship that just works and that more than anything makes them closer and builds their relationship. Yes, the age gap is there, but it doesn't make their relationship seem impossible. Hollis is the true definition of easy to please, a golden retriever for sure, but he also wants to please Hollis so gives off cinnamon roll vibes as well. A well matched relationship that was fun to read.😍

Their hurdles...they both don't want commitment. Hollis is the definition of a good time and why would he ever want that to end. Ford just got out of his marriage and he's not even sure he wants to jump into the dating pool. Of course they would match each other, because that's how romance works and will big feelings happen...read the book and find out.😉

Ford just got out of his marriage and is thinking of tipping his toes back into the world of dating! Living in a small town and being the fire captain does not make it all that easy! So he sets up an anonymous profile on a dating app. On there Hollis catches his eye. The younger cowboy has a quite a reputation and Ford is not interested in being another notch on his belt … or is he? Because for someone reason he swipes right and they match! But while Ford knows exactly who he’s talking to, Hollis will have to figure it out…

I absolutely fell in love with the Moore Men in book 1 and was so excited to see how their story’s will continue! This was such a fun book to read and Hollis and Ford had such an interesting dynamic! There was so much banter between them and such a flawless shift of who was in charge. Hollis really got Ford out of his shell and healed him! Can’t wait for the next one 🙏🏼

 Ashley James can write MM like no other. A playboy cowboy and an older, grumpy fireman find themselves matched online except the fireman KNOWS who the cowboy is and swipes right anyways.

When Hollis figures out that the hottie he has been crushing on in a dating app is his best friends older and very off limits boss, he should back away. But when it becomes clear that Ford knew it was him all along he can't walk away.

Soon, they are with each other all the time and spending the night together. Hollis didn't think he was the type of guy to commit but Ford is under his skin and he doesn't ever want to let go.

One scary moment is all it takes for Ford to realize he can't live without Hollis either.

Total Grumpy/Sunshine with a splash of forbidden. So damn good! I can never put a book down that Ashley James writes!
