I think the writing is done really well with this book. There was a lot of “spice” & many details within the spice.. which is great but I feel like it was lacking somewhere? I feel like there needed to be more of a emotional connection rather than the sexual and maybe that’s why I didn’t dig it as much as I wanted to

wowza

Definitely not my favorite book. I wanted to love this book so much. I read so many good things about it, but I felt like Penny deserved more than what James is giving her. There was way to much drama in a short amount of time and I felt like it was rushed.

Okay it was pretty good, good enough to then read the next books. Although part of that is due to the fact that the way the series is written you don’t really have a choice if you want to know how it goes.

The relationship is a wee bit unhealthy.

Also. It sort of drives me nuts that she always thinks and refers to him as Professor Hunter. Like as a kink? Or occasionally? Sure. But like. Always?! Blarg.

Shy student Penny Taylor always follows the rules. At least, that’s how it appears to her classmates. But she has one illicit secret – she’s fallen hard for her professor. And she’s pretty sure he’s fallen for her too.

Everyone loves Professor Hunter. He’s tall, dark, and handsome. And completely unobtainable. But it’s the secrets hiding behind his deep brown eyes that allures Penny. Secrets darker than she could ever imagine.

James Hunter gave up his billionaire lifestyle in NYC last year to become a professor. The easiest new rule to follow: don’t fraternize with the students. It’s easy to follow because he’s become quite the recluse in his new town – the only way he knows how to keep his secrets buried.

But he never expected to be teaching such a beautiful student. He has to resist her. He needs to walk away. Penny deserves better than a man with his demons. But she’s daring him to cross the line. And he’s never been one to resist temptation.

- Teacher x student
- Secret Relationship
- Age Gap

Wouldn't recommend it. The book was frustrating. Penny is stupid. She really did Tyler dirty. I wanted to hit her with a pipe and a hammer. However, the beach scene was incredible. I would also cut class just to spend a day at the beach with professor Hunter. I didn't want to read the book 2 because it's so frustrating. She doesn't trust Professor Hunter which is stupid. Idk just kill her and let me have Professor Hunter

Spice level:

this book was way to much drama to me. it was so much back and fourth and lying and just lust to me. i didn’t really feel the love between the two. they just didn’t know each other that much at all.

pretty good!

i liked this book although it moved pretty fast. definitely going to read the whole series tho! it was a fast read!
