I liked this one the best out of the Falk books.
Another fabulous Jane Harper novel! I've loved every single one of her books, and look forward with eager anticipation to new publications. Aaron Falk is one of my favourite characters from recent reads, and I'm so happy to see him back in this novel.
What I Loved
- Jane Harper has an incredible way of describing places. I felt like I was right there in SA wine country with the characters, and could almost taste the wine
- Satisfying character development, for both returning characters (eg, Aaron Falk and the Raco's) and new characters (eg, Naomi, Kim, Charlie, Gemma)
- Audiobook narration by Steve Shanahan. I love the fact that Jane and Steve have a continuing relationship, he is the perfect narrator, and how I hear Aaron in my head!
- Intriguing mysteries x 2!
- I was smiling all the way through the final chapters, as I saw Aaron settling into a well deserved happy ending

In all seriousness, I'm glad Falk finally got his happy ending. That shit was a long time coming

A great conclusion to the Aaron Falk series. Two great revelation/twists at the end! A satisfying book - I absolutely love Jane Harper and I am so excited for her next books!
As other reviewers have noted, this is less of a tightly plotted, tense, page-turning mystery than Jane Harper's other works have been. I didn't mind this - in fact, this ranks as one of the better Harper reads for me (I've always tended to find her hit and miss) - but I did find the romantic subplot a weak spot for me. I was more interested in the mysteries than Falk's love life and I think the revelation of the mysteries raised themes that could have been explored in more detail.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as her others. It was still a good read. Very complex and always had you guessing. I think it felt a little more of a repeat of a repeat (tone wise) and felt like it was too similar to her other books.
Still would recommend the author and I look forward to her next one!

Overall it was a good read. I did find some parts slower than others. I loved how it all came together though. The characters follow over and are very likeable.
