Fascinating read- very thorough and full of interesting facts. Despite the somewhat stale (excuse the pun) topic, the writing is flavorfull and overall its a great book!

Interesting and generally well laid out history of food preservation although the last few chapters are a bit propaganda for my taste (a bit too much everything for the good). But the earlier chapters which actually consider how food preserving came about and how it was discovered or invented are interesting
