I need to gather my thoughts... what a unique story!!
Very few times have I felt this invested in a book series and very few times have I felt as far from the real world as while reading these books. They are so utterly phenomenal, from the brilliant writing to the clever world-building; I love it all. The connection between past, present and future was incredibly interesting to read and conveyed a really important message. As much as humanity might strive for what is good, we cannot change the very nature of what we are. Bad traits, as well as the good, will always follow us. But we can always try to make this world better and we always should. And while I didn't love the ending because it just seemed so... sad, I know that there will be more Tearling books and I couldn't be happier to see one of my favourite series continue!
A good finish! There was some weirdness, and I found the end, well ... not at all what I was expecting. But I liked it. I liked it a lot.
I have a lot of mixed emotions about the end of this book, but ultimately I think that is a good thing. Certainly, I wish there could be a world where Kelsea, the Mace, etc. live in the Tearling and work hard to make it a better place, but in reality I know that it would not achieve the same level of beauty that occurred once Row had been beaten. The world Kelsea enters truly does seem like what the Tears had always been working towards and it's comforting to know that it could happen. Nonetheless, it required great sacrifice to achieve, and there's no greater sacrifice than what the book portrays. In life, good cannot happen without some sort of struggle and I'm glad this book did not delve into the fictional world of "they lived happily ever after".
Is it just me or was everyone else even more confused after reading that ending?
I would give the first 80% of the book a 4-4.5 stars but the last few chapters made me want to throw the book out the window just to stop the nonsense I was reading. I'm honestly really disappointed with how the series ended especially after everything that happened. I feel like there's a huge gaping hole that has me feeling very unsatisfied and I don't know what to do with all of the unanswered questions I have...

I was disappointed when I saw that Katherine Kellgren wouldn't be narrating this one, as she did the first two in the series. However, Polly Lee does a fantastic job keeping the accents, pronounciations, and overall tone of the books - I almost forgot it was a different narrator at all. The book itself was fantastic too ;)
Couldnt Care for that ending. The story just felt underdevelopped for me.
Bad bad bad ending to at great series. I feel like the author wrote herself into a corner and then made this ending to get herself out. Very disappointing to a great series.
I don't know how to rate this now. I loved the world, the characters and the writing style. But then the ending happened. Which was like "Wow" and also like "WHY?".
