This book was a very quick read. I was not able to put it down. A very interesting story with history that I had never learned.
3.5 is more accurate. Beautiful setting, super heartfelt stories - love the historical accuracy. A quick and pretty read (definitely a great summer/beach read) with heart, just felt a little obvious and expected at times.
Now interested in finding out more about the 1935 Labor Day hurricane.
I could not put down this gripping historical fiction novel filled with kickass women. The Last Train To Key West is a not-to-miss read if you love women's fiction and history paired with a little romance.

Memorial Day long weekend is the perfect time to read about these 3 women’s story set in 1935 Florida Keys, during one of the most devastating hurricanes
ever hitting the US.
I have a soft spot for all stories about the Keys, and this was such a lovely, light and entertaining read.

This has been my favorite in the series thus far. I think the lack of timeline jumps and a more linear story kept my attention a lot more than the first two. Seeing how the women’s lives intertwined as the story progressed was well done. This one could definitely stand alone and doesn’t need the first two to enjoy. I recommend!

“In 1935 three women are forever changed when one of the most powerful hurricanes in history barrels toward the Florida Keys in New York Times bestselling author Chanel Cleeton's captivating new novel.”
Helen tries to escape an abusive marriage and braving to live on her own with her child. Mirta having to adjust being a newly wed and an arrange marriage to a stranger with illicit dealings. Elizabeth agrees to marry someone to save her family from their troubles and while looking for a family member comes across an unlikely ally.
This book starts strong with three strong women characters. It’s interesting that the author uses the hurricane of 1935 during Labor Day weekend and the poor situation of the veterans of WW1. It is an easy and quick read and makes you want to find out about the plight of the main characters as each of them has a very interesting and captivating stories. But halfway thru the story, I started to lose interest little by little. I might be a minority but this didn’t work out for me as I would expect a historical fiction would be. It also appears more of a romance than historical fiction making them like damsels in distress. I also find the connection of the three women seems unlikely and all their endings are nicely-wrapped up but yes to happy endings. All’s well that ends well.

I was hesitant about picking this book up because I wasn't a big fan of Next Year in Havana. However, this book was so much better. We follow 3 women in the days leading up the the strongest hurricane to ever hit the US, unbeknownst to them off course. The romantic aspects of this book while still very fast paced (it always takes less than 2 days to fall in love, at least in Cleeton's world), were so much better than in the other book. This was a very good mix of romance and historical fiction with a hint of mystery.

Entertaining and very cool to see all of the stories of these women come together. At the very very end you finally understand everything.
