I really enjoyed this story. It kept me wondering as I read how each of these women's lives would come together and I enjoyed how it ended and how the story was written.

I loved this book so much!

Three women’s lives converge over one Labor Day weekend during the 1930s as a devastating hurricane whips towards them.

Chanel Cleeton expertly weaves fact and fiction in a fast-paced story that I could not put down. I loved the strength of each of these women; they were so well-written. A couple things, (treatment of WWI veterans and the 1935 Labor Day hurricane) had me reading even more after I finished to learn more about these events. Highly recommend this book.

4.5

4.5 // Fast-paced historical, with three different women whose stories slightly, but not totally, converge over the course of a long weekend and the worst hurricane to hit the USA ever. Helen, Mirta, Elizabeth, all with a story, all with a hope. The mark of a great historical for me is if I want to keep researching after I finished it, and that happened with this. It did finish maybe a little too perfectly, but was overall very interesting and emotional.

Audiobook

Entertaining, I like the intertwined stories but disliked the ending

I liked the ambiance of the story and the way the three women’s stories unfolded and tied together. I would say this is a light, historical fiction romance.

Wonderful story telling that brought images right out of the print. I loved that there was a historical backdrop to this book. I want to find out more!Very glad I gave this book a chance. I would definitely recommend.

It took me a long while to get into the story. I felt so much damsel in distress tones , it was not catching my attention. My best friend asked me to keep at it.

I am happy I did. Chanel Cleeton is a beautiful, descriptive story teller. I fell in love with Next Year in Havana.
Though it took me until chapter 19 to get into this book.

She brought to life a real life storm I knew nothing about.

The 3 main characters that annoyed me in the beginning became 3 sister friends that all freed each other without even knowing it.

I love how she weaved them together.
This book came at perfect timing for me.

Wonderful fast read that includes a history lesson on an event I did not know anything about, the hurricane that hit Key West is 1935.
