Great book. Super easy read with lots of unexpected connections. Loved the stories of the 3 women and that they stayed disconnected from each other. Loved this one!

A fascinating look at one of the worst hurricanes to hit the U.S. of all time - Labor Day, 1935. An era I knew little about so interesting to read about the Depression, the "forgotten" heroes of WWI, Cuban/American relations and the mobster subculture. The three fictional women portrayed had well drawn characters and I found myself very invested in their stories. Definitely makes me want to visit Key West now :)

The Last Train to Key West is the third installment of the Perez Family series by Chanel Cleeton, and the first to not feature the main characters of the previous two novels.
This story centers around three interesting women of very different backgrounds and personalities, who cross paths in the Florida Keys over Labor Day weekend in 1935.
The women are complicated, complex and believable characters. With beautiful and vivid descriptions of Key West, the narrative and intricate plot are engaging, well-written and easy to follow.
I was not familiar with the overseas railroad and really enjoyed learning about that.
I recommend this one with themes of love, determination, bravery, survival and second chances.
