I would've given this a 4 but I kept getting confused by all of the different POV's.

The end was anti-climatic...it was a great build up and then lost steam.

I was intrigued from beginning until the near end. The second person POV really made the story. I would have appreciated more repercussions for Aidan and more healing for May/Rachel.

A very well written book but some of the characters and receptive actions really took away from the plot. The middle really dragged but thankfully, I chose to listen to the audiobook so it wasn’t a challenger to get through. I’d really recommend the audiobook. The narrators really did a wonderful job.

Please check triggers. There is alot going on in this book.

This is a story of a woman that was kidnapped and assaulted for 5 years before being moved from a shed to the kidnappers (Aiden) home. We follow as all the characters interact with A and how he impacts their lives. We follow Emily, Rachel, and Cecilia with small add ins from the 9 women that were kidnapped and killed.

Emily was unbearable. Her character was so useless and her easy obsession with A was insane. I get that he played a great family man role in public but she literally stalked this man and saw nothing wrong with that. She also lives in a giant pity party. Her emotional intelligence doesn’t exist.

Rachel
aka May Mitchell
had her moments of bffr but overall wasn’t a bad character. I understood some her actions and could see why there was so much hesitation but man did I sit here telling her to get a move on several times.

Cecilia… I really feel for her. She’s only 13 and she’s lost so much and I can’t even imagine what her future and mental health will be like.
