I found that this story had a much deeper meaning than I originally believed (which is the case with most classic novels). Dickens portrayed how life was in the 19th century. The class gap was big, and he showed this through his different characters. Ebenezer Scrooge was used to portray the rich whilst the Cratchit's portrayed the poor. I found the story enlightening as it made me believe that people can change over time if they are able to look inside themselves and see how they can alter the lives of many.

Didn’t finish in time for Christmas, and there was a disappointing lack of the phrase “no cheeses for us meeces”, but still glad I finally read it

Every year, we listen to an audio of A Christmas Carol on our way home from Thanksgiving weekend. This year's version was read by Jim Dale and was excellent! A great way to kick off the Christmas season.

5/5 stars!

I have wanted to read A Christmas Carol for years now and Iv finally read it! I have seen so many different adaptations of A Christmas Carol (the Muppets one is defiantly my favourite) but I watched the Disney Animated version a few nights ago and it has got to be the most accurate to the book.

Even thought the book is a mere 100 pages it’s something that warms the heart entirely. A man who clearly hated life and was bitter about everything and everyone needed to show how his bitterness effected others and himself. It feels almost like a fever dream. But it’s just brilliant. I’m shocked how less Tiny Tim is in it I think it’s because Iv seen the Muppets Christmas Carol so many times where Cratchit and Tiny Tim are in it consistently. But the ending always brings a tear to my eye.

He had no further intercourse with Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterwards; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!

usually when I read classics I lose my mind and wonder why I thought it was a good idea. However this was a short and easy read and I really enjoyed reading the actual story behind the cinematic masterpiece ‘A Muppets Christmas Carol’.

i like Dicken's protracted way of driving home a point, funny stuff.

also, the ghost of christmas present is hot!

I had never actually read the whole thing so it was nice to read at Christmas time, you can't go wrong with Dickens!
