Hate saying a final goodbye to these two but loved how it ended. Well done.

I appreciate that the author leaned into this being an AU telling of the Holmes story, rather than trying to smash the characters and their story into the true story. Lots of good intrigue and a happy ending made for a satisfying end to this trilogy.

todo bien con thomas y audrey pero DEMASIADO romance, yo re mastermind como siempre yy no se que más poner la verdad
I enjoyed this one but it felt like some of the pacing was weird and sometimes I felt like I was missing stuff. The whole segment in New York felt really rushed and also the realization at who the killer actually was and the confrontation came and was done too quickly. I was also a bit annoyed at the double epilogue—apparently Audrey Rose was no longer worried about Liza’s reputation by association? for two whole years?— but whatever. It ended happily which is mostly enough for me.

I read the first two books a couple of years ago and returned to finish this since I enjoyed Kerri's new Kingdom of the Wicked series. This is... not what I remembered, to put it mildly.
WAY too much wedding drama, which was NOT what I signed up for. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the book focused on the actual case, removing the whole thing with Thomas's father, and had them get married without further ado at the end.
The plot was barely there. I guessed the villain in the first chapter lol, and the clues were glaringly obvious (if you knew anything about the case this is based on, it's no mystery at all). Sure, this is not known as the smartest or most intricate mystery series, but some of the plot points were just plain dumb and unbelievable. Like deducing the killer went to Chicago based on some Frankenstein quotes. Or Audrey Rose going to the hotel alone at the end. WTF convinced her that was a good idea? I'm not sure how I feel about the revelations in this book. I didn't like how much rehashing of the Ripper case there was and the sudden changes to the end of that case. I was ready to move on and read something new.
The relationship between Audrey Rose and Thomas also got a bit old for me. There were some cringe moments (jumping in the bath with clothes on, really?). Audrey Roses's feminist commentaries, which I liked in previous books, became a little too repetitive with the whole "because it's my choice" thing.
Overall this book was a mess. My favorite part was Sir Isaac Mewton though :)
