I absolutely love this series and this was great a finale! I'm going really miss Thomas Cresswell and Audrey Rose. Capturing the Devil finds Audrey Rose and Thomas looking at what could be another Ripper murder. But Jack the Ripper is dead. Or is he? The case starts in New York at sends them to Chicago and the World's Fair. They are racing the clock to stop the killing spree and Audrey fights for her life inside the infamous Murder Hotel. I'm truly sad the series is concluded.

Sad the series is over but glad Cresswell and Wadsworth won’t be stressing me out with their shenanigans anymore

This book was very relationship-centric, but I wasn't bothered by it. I think because I've been invested in the sloooowww progression of this couple for three books and I was just ready to see kissing in public without fear of rule breaking (cue John Mulaney's OH GOD IT'S THE OLD TIMES, but in an entirely different context).
As far as murders go, the wedding scene straight up killed me.
Ok, but for the real murders, it really tied in so much with the first book and it was cool to see a lot of things come full circle.
Lastly, Grandmama is a badass and I wish she had been in earlier books because she was the freaking best.

This is a confusing review for me to write as I have so many conflicting emotions when it comes to this story. I love these characters and I truly enjoyed seeing their personal story wrap up, however, the plot of this book was so incredibly predictable. Nothing surprised me, it was painfully obvious who the killer was and to see such intelligent characters jump to every other wild conclusion was fucking painful. The relationship drama was also set at such a high stake to just be wiped away conveniently at the end of the book.

Now I am giving this three stars because of these characters, I cried for a solid 50 pages knowing that everything was going to be fine and that is a credit to Keri Maniscalco's talent at writing characters. 5 stars for these characters a solid 2 for the plot.

ok yeah that was wayyyyyy better. the mystery the romance the DRAMA like yes this is what i like to see. audrey rose has won me over again and her constant praise of chicago really helped her case when ppl compliment chicago its like theyre complimenting me it is the best city ever yep! the random interruption of the wedding and delay of getting married was unnecessary but i literally did not even mind it cause the DRAMA was crazyyyyyy and just so entertaining i was eating it up. the romance was also so much better and audrey roses constant reassurance that she never loved long M name but was just questioning her freedom was very much needed. i also guessed the murderer pretty quickly bc i am awesome and redeemed myself from the last book. there was no point in the book where i was bored which was awesome and it was just sooo much better than the train wreck that was the last book. i had a good time w this series and this book was 100% the best one, audrey rose and thomas were sooo cute together and they deserved their happy ending.
