Ya know when a book is kind of underwhelming because you heard so so many good things about it, so you thought you'd just be absolutely feral for it, and then you just aren't. That is how I am feeling about this. I was so so excited to start the Edge of Darkness trilogy, especially when I saw it was the Book Club's book of the month. But I am not going to lie... this to me almost felt like the dark romance version of Reckless by Lauren Robert's. With the constant back and forth, fake enemy to lovers, and just constant "pretending". That is how Kade and Stacey felt because they kept saying they hated each other over and over, but then were hooking up literally the entire book. There was so much spice, which is fine and great and dandy and all, I like that, but it was so hard for me to believe Kade despised Stacey because they were not really sticking to that at all. I was overall just kinda bored. Yes, there were some touching parts, but really just wasn't my favorite, I don't know if I can continue this series. The darkness really didn't turn me off at all, that wasn't the problem. It just felt like it really lacked emotional depth. Mid for sure.

I'm not really in my dark romance era anymore, but Leigh has a way of sucking me back in and I'm absolutely loving it. Kade is freaking unhingedddd and I love him. Stacy's past and her secrets are haunting me and I can't wait for them to come to light... I really love both of these characters so so much, my sweet broken babies.
The cliffhanger has me itching for Voracious something fierce. I can't wait for it to come to audio so I can binge it as well. We are left in such a suspenseful spot and I'm so nervous about how things are going to play out....
The audio was amazing. This was a duet style multi cast narration with Teddy Hamilton, Lucy Rivers, Shane East, JF Harding, Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, and Roxelana Waters and they all did such a wonderful job. I struggled getting through a lot of this and I'm not sure why but as the story unfolded I became more invested. Maybe the pacing is just a bit slow for me? The story is heavy and emotional. I really like Kade but struggle to like Stacey. Also the friends annoy me. I dislike when when everyone in the friend group has some kind of relationship with each other. It seems so unrealistic. Kade's dad really saved this book for me. I find that relationship and the story around him so interesting!
Hot, but I’ll form an opinion when book 2 comes out. The 1st was missing something 🤔

OMG I’m obsessed!!This book was so good! The story, the cast, the whole narration was excellent. Usually I listen to audiobooks while working or cleaning but this one I couldn’t stop listening to. I listened in one sitting. It was engaging. Witty banter, emotional and hottt 🥵 all narration was excellent but Teddy… 🤌🏻😮💨 so good! I am dying for book two on audio now. Heading straight to get book two as this does leave on a cliffhanger. ⚠️ this book does cover heavy topics so check your TWs. Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
