The POV of this book is sometimes hard for me to enjoy. Because your on the outside looking in. But despite that, it was very sweet. It's a slow burn. Like really slow.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed the story. I did not realize how long the story was when I began to read. All in one sitting. Always love when a story comes alive from the first page until the end..journey of Erins transformation.

This was an...emotional read.

I really enjoyed the story overall...BUT, the ending sucked for me. There was really no completion even though the 3 words were said. It was so slow-paced, forbiddened, unwanted, and just filled with despair. My heart ached the entire time and I did not finish it happy.

*** Book Q & A***

* How did the book make you feel?: It was well-written and illicited a lot of feelings. I really felt for the h. I was hoping for something more with the ending.
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: It was told in dual pov and the story flows well. I felt frustration for the h’s plight and how helpless she was, through little fault of her own.
* What did you think about the main characters?: They were frustrating! The h made poor decisions initially to basically be a an easy lay to the H’s brother. The H was very hateful and the other brothers were so judgemental and the slut-shaming was OTT.
* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: I would’ve liked more chemistry and reconciliation between the H and h. I also loved the ranch setting.
* What themes/tropes did you detect in the story?: dead wife, enemies to lovers, slow burn cowboy romance
* What did you think about the ending?: I would’ve liked another epilogue further down the road where the h really found happiness—and literacy!
* What is your impression of the author?: Lots of talent and great writing!

Tearjerker. The book was ok. Erin had low self-esteem. She seemed scared to want more for herself.

This is my first book by this author. It is very well written. I couldn’t put it down!!! I couldn’t help but hope Erin would find some happiness with Jack. Her life was filled with heartache and disappointment, Jack’s life was easier in some ways but far from perfect. It seems unlikely their futures will include each other, but.....
This book has all the feels. I’ve recommended it to several of my friends and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This book reminds me of the books I use to read from my mom's romance collection. I fell in love with this book and couldn't put it down.

Erin is a down on her luck young woman who arrives at the ranch her dead be at brother is working at seeking help and catches the attention of the Joey and Jack. However, with a background like hers she has been raised to use her body to get what she needs. Throughout, the book she learns that the decisions she's always made have never been the best and grows to understand she is worthy of love. Even Jacks.
