Overall I enjoyed this. I wanted a bit more plot and more world building, but I still liked the characters and would find myself reacting while listening to the audiobook, which is usually a good sign.

This book needs trigger warnings! There is a r@pe scene and several references to it happening multiple more times. It is a rough part of the book. I would have given the book 5 stars had it left the r@pe out. I feel like this book could have reached the same conclusion without that part. The magic system is cool and the first 70% of the book I would give 5 stars.

Okay that all said uhhhhh, this was fine. Honestly that last 1/3 of the book kinda tanked it for me. I was really into it prior to that, I was very interested in the romance and the training and the character development. Such interesting and lovable side characters here. I love Raven and Lyrik and Rogue and Lilith (i'm pretending I'm spelling these names right, I listened to the audiobook). Excited to see where their stories go even if I'm kinda done with the main three, I feel satisfied with where their stories ended, I'm good with them just being side characters in future books. Unfortunately, I think at least the next book focuses on them???? We shall see.
Speaking of the main three I........... could.... not.... with the petnames. This is probably just a me thing but goodness, "sweetling" and "bug" seem very much like parental pet names not lover pet names. I enjoyed the FFM portion of this a lot, I just wish that it felt on more equal footing, rather than two grown adults basically adopting this 19 year old...... child.
Narration was excellent.
Holy shit this was fucking brilliant!!!
I can’t believe this is a debut book because it didn’t read that way at all. The writing is amazing and so addictive I literally never wanted to stop reading!
The plot is fast in some parts and slow in others and I really liked it. It gave us time to get to know the characters and to build relationships whilst also having these crazy fight scenes.
The world building was done so well. The world is expansive with a cool magic system but there were never any info dumps as the author weaved the info in seamlessly.
The character and relationship development was phenomenal. There is a throuple in this book and I don’t want to spoil but just know I ADORE them.
I love Amylia so much. She is strong and sweet and deserves nothing but happiness. She went through a lot of terrible shit in this book and I’m sure we will get more of her healing journey in the next book. Cecily and Gryffon are both sweethearts but so protective and I would die for them. Lyrik is one bad bitch and I love her! She is so strong and sassy but caring and I can’t wait to learn more about her in her book. Rogue was hilarious and such a horndog but once again a secret cinnamon roll. I could literally go on and on about these characters but I love my babies.
I adored the found family aspect. I love that everyone loves each other and has different dynamics.
I feel like I don’t read animals in books that often but I loved all of them in this one. They were so cute and we even have fantasy creatures.
There are a few heavy/dark subjects in this book but they were handled with a lot of care by the author.
I’m so excited to read the next book but so nervous for what’s gonna happen!!!

This was an incredible start to a series and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it
The writing and world-building was excellent, creating a unique magic system with fated mates and characters I absolutely adored
I can’t wait to see Amylia’s growth in the next books because she is definitely on the younger side for an FMC, especially with how this book ends 😅
This is a poly, FFM romance and I adored this pairing - I think they complement each other so well and the chemistry is incredible
There are some tropes in this that aren’t for me but I’m SO excited (and stressed lol) to see where this series goes
C.C. Davie is quickly becoming a new favourite author of mine and I’m absolutely obsessed

i really liked the book and the relationship between the three characters but i couldn’t continue reading after drakon’s appearance and him taking fmc. it was sickening and i couldn’t stand it.
with every appearance mica sounded worse.
it was suspicious how little amylia remembered of her childhood and parents. i didn’t like drakon from the start. it was obvious he had some beef with fmc’s mother.
