Hmmmm i wanted to love this because it's FFM and I love me a good sapphic relationship but it really did feel like a parent/child dynamic. The main three stopped doing it for me around 50%. Also, if a man used the nickname "bug" on me mid sexy time, I'd kick him. They both had really weird juvenile nicknames for Amylia and it really threw me. Add in the unclear POV changes and you have a really confusing ride.

In saying that, the supporting cast were all super interesting. I loved Rogue, Raven and Lyrik and will probably keep reading for more of them. The found family and the feminine rage were both really working for me. Overall, this was a really cool concept, I just think it could have been executed much better.

Heliacle has everything I love, from fae-like characters, elemental magic, female rage and empowerment, to polyamorous fated mates.

This filled me with both rage and hope and I loved every second of it. CC's writing it just so beautiful and lush, which makes it so easy to read and just fly through. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and learn more about all these characters, especially Lyrik!

I loved how violent this book was and the fight scenes were so much fun to read. I'm just so unbelievably excited to get to more of it all!

Kicking myself for not having read this sooner!
Shadow 100% steals the show, not gonna lie. But this truly was a great read.

I like the world, the story, the magic system. Amylia feels a bit 2-dimensional, but there is potential there. The narrator is good, although I’m a bit confused about all the accents. Why?

Decent story aside, I’m still on the fence about whether or not to continue with book 2, however.

The plot is interesting enough, but the writing falls a little flat. The author tries to do too much at the same time, and there is too much telling and not enough showing.

I’m fine with multiple POVs, but in this case, the author head-hops, and you’re left confused and wondering who the hell the narrator is and when it switched from the one you thought it was.

If none of these things bother you, you will probably like this book.

The world building is weak, some of the plots don't make sense and this feel like ACOTAR Rhysand and Feyra have an open relationship and the MC is joined in. It was also instant attraction from her part to both of the husband and wife duo, but somehow she never questioned it or feel guilty having that sort of attraction with her wedding day super near.
I also feel like the author setup the world in a way that make the wife unable to ever have children, so the MC joining this tricycle is now even more crucial because she's the only one that can give children.

This is also why I was skeptical of this FFM relationship, it doesn't feel authentic, it just feel like a harem for the ML.
Also surface level feminism as well, with one of the side character Lyrika, being the "I'm not like other girl". She's "powerful" and "hotheaded", the ML is weaker than her and when asked by another man, Amylia's fiancee, why he let a subordinate challenge him and a female at that, the ML replied because she's the best in her field and she's a very strong + skilled woman. Which gives me the implications that other women won't get that same level of respect if they're not born powerful.
I did tried to brush it off, thinking that I over analyzing too much, but then it happened again. Rayvn, Amylia's brother, addressed Lyrika as Lady "something name", she snorted and don't call me a lady, I'm not like that and you'll won't think so after I train you. Yet she freely call other men lords, but somehow being called a lady to her is seen as feminine and weak.

3.7 stars rounded up. I enjoyed the story and writing- but I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact Gryffon & Cecily are her mates. Since they were introduced I pictured them as her mentors, a more mom/dad/daughter type relationship.
