Além de haver nomes que serão mais tarde aproveitados para outros livros (Maria Williams do conto "Letter the third", Musgrove e Henrietta do conto "From a young lady very much in love to her freind" e outros mais)

These stories of Austen's (her juvenilia, the stories she wrote for her family's amusement as a child) are the last of Austen's writing for me to read. It was obvious from these stories the genius that was yet to come. The outrageousness of many of the stories (poisoners and murderers!) suggested the witty and satirical pen that would give us Northanger Abbey.

Fun, fast, and silly!

Cassandra is a young girl making her way in the world, facing the struggles that many young lady had to challenge during the Edwardian era.

A fan of Austen since I was very young I had never heard of this novel, given that was written when Jane was just twelve years old it is an impressive fete, however this is not one of her novels that particularly gripped me and I found myself becoming bored of a tireless and tedious plot. However, it is still beautifully written and if you are a fan of Austen looking for a quick read this is definitely a good choice!

It's clear that Jane Austen had a wonderful sense of humor even at a young age. She even knew how to make a strong heroine at 12 years old! This was very cute and I enjoyed getting a glimpse at the early life of one of my favorite authors. The additional information provided by the illustrator Juliet McMaster was greatly appreciated by this Janeite!
