DID NOT FINISH: 20%

I really tried with this book, but I just couldn't do it. While the rest of the Lunar Chronicles have a charm to their dramatics, Fairest is lacking in this quality. I'm sure that if I was more in the mood for a story completely devoid of fun, I'd at least be able to finish this, but that's not what I'm reading this book series for. Honestly, I just cannot be brought to care or sympathize with Levanna as a lead, and that's besides the fact that she wants to marry a teenager in her future. She works so much better as an antagonist than a lead. The rest of the Lunar Chronicles can be a bit corny, but they make up for it with personality, something that Fairest certainly does not have.

Ooh, so interesting to read from Levanas point of view! I was afraid I would sympathize too much with her, but while I did pity her for several things, she still did awful things without seemingly any reason. Great read all in all!

Impressive! Very well written, contained quite a bit of information, and was sufficiently creepy.

Looking forward to the final book in the series even more now!

Three words: Levana. Is. Sick.

Incredibly depressing. It’s not a “good book” on its own, but it’s a good supplemental addition to the Lunar Chronicles Series.

This books ending made me cry I have not seen a villain done so well in a long time. I really enjoyed this addition to the lunar chronicles series I think it provided some good insight into character motivations and was certainly entertaining. I really enjoyed the tie in to the evil queens counterpart in fairytales as these are all fairytale adaptations. I think this book did such a good job of having a new story fit that older framework. The mirror scene was a privilege. I really liked how all Levana's problems are of her own making I think it makes her a relatable and very " human" character.
