I loved this one. It was interesting to see the backstory behind the lunar queen. And oddly even more satisfying to know she was manipulative and evil from the start of her love.
This series is probably my favorite of any recent releases. While this was short, I really liked how it shed some light on Levana's back story. But it is DEFINITELY NOT for YA audiences - there were some dark, adult-Y things happening that were a bit off from the rest of the series.

surprised how mature this book felt compared to the rest of the series. kinda makes me wish the other characters in the lunar chronicles were given this kinda nuance but its also a ya series so im prob asking for too much 🤷♀️

What can I say? I ended up hating her even more than when I started reading these books. It's a story that, in my opinion, is important to understand the reason why Levana is the way she is.
