I know I give 5 star ratings way too easily, but I’ve missed this series and I love it an awful lot so here you go

This is a fun series.  I don't want it to end.  This was way too short.

I really enjoyed this!

I actually felt sorry for Levana. She's still an absolutely awful human, but considering she spent her childhood being terrorised by her sister, you can see how she may have turned out the way she did.

Definitely worth reading this if you're a fan of the series.

Very fun

I loved it but it just made me hate levana more cuz she could have been sooo much better if she actually tried but I mean it was nice seeing how she got where she was and I understood her more by the end of it.

Damn levana only needed a friend

I didn't love it. I know that Levana is the "villain" of the series, but so much of the story just made me feel uncomfortable and sad, but not in a way that made me feel sympathy for her character. In fact, I felt very little for her, which is what I think made it so hard to enjoy the novel. Levana is absolutely mentally ill, her actions are not justified in the least bit, despite Marissa Meyer providing us with some background that may make some sympathize with her. To be quite honest I found it hard to like or feel anything for any of the characters in the novel. Though Fairest was a quick read, I still felt extremely disconnected throughout. My favorite part was the small glimpses that we see of the younger characters that come into play in the rest of the series, and I loved that we were given a glimpse as to when Princess Selene escaped Luna.

Don't get me wrong, I love this series immensely and this novel didn't take away from that love. I think that I went into the novel expecting a little more from Levana and her story, being that it was a full novel and not just a novella. For fans of the series, this one is an absolute must read. I am glad that I got a backstory on Levana despite my not loving it as a whole, and I absolutely cannot wait to read Winter.

★x4 | (B) 87% | AGES 14+ | Right, so this was a bit terrifying to read about. With that being said, I enjoyed this really well. Reading this book was like watching a Disney movie suddenly showing something pretty dark for its brand and you’re just caught off guard like “I’m sorry, what?” I really enjoyed that part of this.

| Characters - ★x4 | Levena really is an evil queen. Great backstory for this.
| Storyline - ★x4 | Enticing enough to keep reading.
| Writing - ★x4 | Still the same.

Should you read this? If you’d like some backstory for the Evil Queen, some extra good-good for the Lunar Chronicles, then yes. If you’re wondering if you can live without this, yes, but the cover is one of a kind that’s for sure.

Ha sido muy interesante ponerse en la piel de Levana y conocer como llego a ser quien es.
