رواية لطيفة وخفيفة، أحببتها.

A Little Princess is one of my all-time favorite books, but I had never read the original story, Sara Crewe. ( A Little Princess was a rewrite of Sara Crewe.) I enjoy the rewrite so much that this book wasn't as entertaining, I missed some of my favorite characters, yet the basic part of the story was there and that I did enjoy. I wish I would have read this first, then A Little Princess. If you've read neither, I recommend starting with this book.

While it is plagued by the period-typical racism and influences of British colonialism in India, I do like the story. It's nice to see the beginning of what will eventually become A Little Princess

Sara Crewe is the original version of The Little Princess. Most of the story is there, just with less detail. It really is a sweet story.

”إن هذه الأحداث عبارة عن قصص. كل شيء في هذا العالم قصة. أنتِ قصة، وأنا قصة، جميعنا كذلك. يمكنك أن تستوحي قصة من أي شيء يحيط بك.“

"سارا كروي"، الأميرة التي انقلبت حياتها لجحيم بسبب شجع من حولها وسوء حكمهم وتقديسهم للمكانة المادية للغير. لطالما أزعجتني شخصية "سالي" في المسلسل الكرتوني، أن تترك الظالم يقوم بما يبرع به من أذى وإساءة، ومن ثُم تسامحه وتتمنى له الخير دون مسألة ولا حساب! لم أكن قادرةً على تقبل هذا، ولا زلت لا أفعل، إن لم أقدر أن اردع الظلم، فلماذا اسامحه واتركه يفرُّ حرًّا حتى من سجن الضمير؟
ما أختلف في هذه الرواية، أننا أستطعنا رؤية أفكار "سارا"، وفهمنا الهدف من خلف كل خطوة تخطوها، وكل كلمة تقولها، والأهم، كل أذى تسكت عليه. وعمومًا، كانت شخصية "سارا" هاهنا أكثر واقعية وأفضل مما في المسلسل المُقتبس (يبقى للمسلسل محاسنه، وأهمها كل الشخصيات التي كانت مُعينة ومُحبَّة لـ"سارا"، والتي بالمناسبة أحبها كثيرًا، وأُحبِطت عندما لم أجدهم في الرواية)

للرواية نهاية سعيدة، والخير يعود لأصحابه بصدفٍ لا تحدث في الواقع، وهو ما أنا ضده عادةً، فعلينا أن ندرك أن التغيير لا يبدأ إلّا بنا، وألّا نعيش المُرّ في أنتظار أن تُمد يد العون لنا. ولكن في هذه الرواية، تستطيع أن تقرأ من بين السطور أن ما تقاسيه "سارا" ليس أمرًا مُستهجنًا من العامة، إلّا من امتلك قلبًا حيًّا وهم للأسف قليل، فأستطيع أن أفهم أن "سارا" لم يكن بيدها فعل أيِّ شيء في تلك السن الصغيرة، وإني مؤمنة أنه لو لم يتم مساعدتها، لأنقذت نفسها بنفسها في وقتٍ ما في المستقبل، ولكن خير الله أتى وكيف لها أن ترده.

2.5-3 A charming little story. I expected more tension, or just something more to happen. I'd like to read The Little Princess now, as I'm sure I'll prefer the longer version.
