Yes the technology aspect of Devil Wears Prada is dated, oh how Andrea would love google docs and real smart phone but the rest of it still stands up to today's chick lit especially having read lots of the "magazine girl" chick lit that followed this one.

capp518's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 14%

I disliked the way a couple of the POC characters were described early on in the book. The main character described her two Indian roommates as quiet and extremely polite and then stayed from the day she met them on, they were “completely indistinguishable.” It turned me off, and I’m not willing to slog through a book that discusses characters like that.

loved it! Excited to read the next one

Definitely different when compared to the movie. Still was a good read.

3,5/5
Čo mi azda najviac prekážalo boli gramatické chyby a sem-tam domrvené mená módnych návrhárov.

Much better book than movie. Entertaining, funny and fast paced but not really deep-which is okay, I guess it fits well into the "light, easy, fast read" category.
challenging emotional tense fast-paced

Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I can totally see how someone read this book and immediately thought it needed a movie deal. It was fast paced just like the fashion industry. Andy's inner monologue was always amusing. The deteriorating relationships could be felt along with the high stress. Great writing! The ending was perfect!

The movie is better than the book. #sorrynotsorry

First time ever I think the movie is better than the book
