I had a feeling after reading The Mothers, but can definitively say that Brit Bennett is one of my favorite authors. I love her writing and how beautifully messy her stories are. This was phenomenal.

5⭐️. Very good. I like how each daughter was like the opposite twin. Wasn’t what I expected and had a lot of different themes that I really enjoyed. Love the romance aspect to the book. I wonder if Stella ever went back again? Or if Kennedy ever met her Aunt and Uncle?? The story of how lives change from one tiny lie and results of that indiscretion. I wonder if Stella’s family would have embraced/forgave her regardless of her race. Didn’t like the ending but I guess it’s up for interpretation.
