I simply am in love with Mr. Pattersons books. The plot and the character building is simply incredible. Even though you know what's going to happen, you simply can't be left stunned when you read his books. This was my second James Patterson book and I devoured it with all my heart. Kudos sir. Kudos.

Book #39 read in 2015

Alex Cross, Run (Alex Cross Book #20) by James Patterson.
Review to come.

Great fast-paced read. This series never disappoints.

First of, I got this book through a Goodreads giveaway.
I've never heard about the "Alex Cross" series or even James Patterson before. (Then again I just started reading seriously this year, so pardon me.)

I just jumped right in with no expectations at all. And boy was it a fun ride.

This book has everything I could wished for in the crime/detective genre. A full packed story with more than one murder, gruesome deaths, pretty girls and and and.

I got attached to the characters pretty fast and the pages turned themselves.

The really short chapters were nice too. It felt like I would watch a tv show and every chapter is a scene.

This sure wasn't the last book I read about "Alex Cross" or from Patterson.
challenging mysterious medium-paced

Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Better than some of the recent ones in the series but still didn't quite feel like Patterson gave it his all.

I have to admit that I had never read a James Patterson before winning 'Alex Cross, Run' , although I always wanted to start the Alex Cross series (and *yay* I finally won something!!! --> I won it in one of the giveaways of Goodreads First Read!). Since I finally finished some other stuff, that sadly had to get done first, I started reading 'Alex Cross, Run' last night and I finished it at maybe 1 or 2 this morning because I couldn't put it down!
Before reading I knew that this book was part of a series and already further along the whole private life and issues Alex Cross experienced, so I was interested whether or not it's easy to get right into the story without knowing any of the earlier books. And it works!!! I felt right in the middle of everything and that is just fantastic writing, when you can pick up any book of a series, not having any background knowledge from previous books and still be drawn in. So I'm guessing that you can start with any of the Cross novels and be right in there with all the characters and their emotions.
I won't tell anything about the storyline because this page already has the short description of the book. But what I want to tell is that this book (not sure about the other Alex Cross novels) tells the story from not just Cross' perspective but also from the murderers' and other characters' point of view, which makes it really interesting as you keep track with all the information from different perspectives, trying to make sense of it all.
So, this is the end of my review and to sum it up: I loved the book and will definitely start to read all other Alex Cross novels (I guess I know what I'm getting for Christmas). And for others: if you already read other books from this series, you'll probably read this too and won't be disappointed. If you haven't: start reading this or any Cross novel because it's real easy to get right into it, it's gripping and almost impossible to put down!

Another great story had me hooked from the start. Can't wait to read the next in the series
