The information given is fairly common info wrapped up as if the author has sole authority. The reality is many of the items discussed have nuance and complications and are simplified and reduced to an outdated binary in order to promote his program.
I finished reading it. Now I'm going to try the 21 day plan. I'll rate and review it once I'm finished with that. The proof of the pudding is in the tasting they say.

Lots of promise at the start, but felt the recommendations became shakier as the book went along. He might be right on the money, though, and I'm willing to give much of what he suggests a shot.

Outdated in 2022. The 21 day fix at the end is good, otherwise it seems like a lot of info we already know, and some even incorrect 7 years after publication.

There is nothing new in this book. Just a collection of common sense. Oh and buy organic even if there's no evidence of clinically relevant differences between organic and conventional. I'm giving it 2 stars just because at least it is written quite well and it goes by fast, it also reminded me to eat more fish and veggies but I knew everything the author said by first grade.
Absolutely nothing new. If you're already into self-improvement you really don't need to read this book. In fact I didn't enjoy the voice of the narrator and therefore would recommend against reading this book. Ideally I'd give it 2.5 stars because it's just ok, but I'll round it up to 3stars because I do think that someone new to the field would get something out of it and don't want to scare them away with a too bad of a review. It's fine, there are article references etc, it just wasn't revolutionary.

I like this book, for most folks I would take it with a grain of salt - specifically the food restriction during the chapters where he explains the program - but the science of everything is incredibly interesting.
I have ADHD, Autism, and Chronic Illness. I have a lot of brain fog - but because of the mentioned things that take a toll on me, as well as a history of eating disorders, I can't follow the food portion of the program verbatim. But I did love learning about how certain foods can boost brain health and how things like pole-caught fish and taking an Omega 3 supplement can boost brain health and help reduce brain fog. I have started to incorporate more of the minimally processed, whole foods mentioned and as a result, I have been craving less of the food I used to eat - but I still allow myself to have them when I want them. Balance.
