I haven’t cried this much reading a novel in good while. This one hurt, there were times when I was literally sobbing and crying my heart out. It made me suffer, my poor heart was crushed into pieces, but it was worthy.

I must say this is a redemption story and at the same time is so much more, a story about morality, a story about love, a story about self acceptance. I loved the journey that Mo Ran (and also Chu Wanning) had, about owning his past mistakes and becoming a better person.

The romance in this one is pure pinning, is slow and excruciating but reading how they fell in love in two lifetimes was beautiful.

Please do mind the trigger warnings because they’re heavy topics in this novel, don’t take them lightly because they are there and they’re not pretty.

4/5 stars, great read if you like tragic redemption love stories with some action and a lot of fantasy.

Simplemente es increíble. Se que es un danmei que temen muchos leer y honestamente sufrí montones pero sentir esta desesperación y amor por los personajes es realmente gratificante.

I enjoyed this book. It gave me alot of tears tho ngl. The book is so good, different to what I predicted honestly. When you read through the different perspectives of the main characters, you sympathise with them and it all makes sense why everything happened. I love mo ran’s character development and when you find it why he becomes like that it just tears you apart. Chu wanning deserves so much love. I’m glad he found someone that can love him and make him feel like he’s worth a billion stars. It broke my heart seeing how insecure and how low his confidence is about himself. At first I didn’t really know who the villain would be. It was a shock to me finding out. I cried so much during nangong si’s arc. Ye wangxi and nangong si deserved so much better. My favourite character is xue meng. I love xue meng with all my heart. He deserves so so much love and his parents were wonderful. They both loved him so much, it tore me apart so much. When he called mo ran “ge” I could not stop crying at all. I really like the author she’s on twitter and she’s funny and kind.
