As always, I love a good small town cowboy romance. The MMC was a little too broody for me and I just couldn’t connect with FMC. It did take a bit to get into the book but I did enjoy the last 50% of the book. Warning there is some mild infidelity with the FMC.

⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️
Second chance cowboy romance, time to saddle up! Give me a moody, grumpy cowboy that only shows his affection and care for ONE woman and I will collapse into a pile of goo. Warren Langston the chokehold (hehe) you have on me is ungodly. This man waited for her, he made her dreams come true without her even being there on the pure hope that she would return. I don't blame him for making sure he tried his very best to prove that he has and will always be the one for "Maze". At first I felt bad for Hayes (the new fiance), but honestly by the end I was hoping him and Maze's parents would absolutely just f*ck right off. Warren had it right by protecting her from their bullsh*t! From cute dates, family drama, two-stepping shenanigans, horseback riding and everything in-between Willow Branch Mountain has it all for you!

I liked it more than I thought I would. I thought it was gonna be more like sweet home Alabama and was worried but it pleasantly branched off into its own original work. His yearning and devotion was quite nice and I liked how he was never really mad at her, even for leaving and being engaged. Just quietly hoped his love would bring her back, and it did
it actually pains me to give a célibate mmcs book such a low rating, but i did not enjoy this at all.
my main issue and what caused me to not enjoy this was the cheating. and no, her having a fiancé is hardly omd, and you know i LOVE omd and jealousy from the mmc. sadly this was not that at all.
first of all for someone who supposedly never moved on and kept waiting for her to come back he sure didn't seem all that guted when he found out she was engaged, if anything he was just mildly irritated. no angst, no sadness, no jealousy.. he even felt comfy to discuss her sex life with om
*safety :
-safe
-no cheating between MCs
- no owd
-omd : fmc is engaged to om and cheats on him with the mmc.
- celibacy during seperation : he was celibate, she has only been with her fiancé Hayes
spoilers ahead
so basically Maze and Warren are highschool sweethearts, they dated for 7 years, got married at 21 but ultimately drifter apart when Maze moved to New york for an apprenticeship to pursue her career, and Warren did not want to move.
7ears later she is engaged to om, but the kick is that she is still married to Warren as he never signed the divorce papers that she sent him multiple times. so she shows up in person to ask him to signe, he refuses, asks her for a week of dates to make her reconsider and take him back. so she spends a week emotionally and physically cheating on her fiancé with no guilt nor even sparing him a thought.
-my 2nd issue is Warren and how he was gaslighting Maze about her career. so basically he kept blaming her for the divorce because she was the one who moved away, then he tried to convince her that she is miserable in her dream job, in her own company that she worked so hard to achieve. he hasn't seen or spoke to her in 7 years and he thinks he has the right to say that? the funny part was that he was miserable for 7 years too so why isn't he nitpicking his own life and career choices ?
what's worst is that it worked and it made her drop her dream job in her dream city to move back home
- 3rd issue is that Warren said he never signed the papers in the hopes that she would realize her mistake and take him back, he even built her a dream house à la " the notebook" . yet this man never actively tried to get her back for 7 years yet was expecting HER to drop everything and go back to him ?
so why is he trying to get her back NOW, that she is with another man, happy and ready to move on? why couldn't he have seeked her before instead of being a coward who was insecure about her success.
everytime they spoke about her career i got soo effy and icked out by Warren, he looked down at her dreams and said it himself that " he just assumed she'd drop it once she realized he was the one she wanted", what does her career have to do with wanting him??? if she's the love of his life why hasn't HE dropped his job who he had 0 passion for and was only doing it because it's a family business, to be with her and support her. why does the woman has to sacrifice something she spent 7 years building and a life time of wanting ?.
im not even going to adress Maze's parents because i'll get irrationally mad

2.5? Maybe a 2?
Okayyyyyy I have thoughts here…
Maisie and Warren got married at 21 and haven’t seen each other in 7 years (they’re 29 in the present time of this story). They never got divorced, they’re more so just estranged. Maisie has a whole live in New York, and now that she’s engaged, she needs to get a divorce so she can move on with her life. Warren asks for 7 days to show her they belong together and she shouldn’t go through with the divorce.
My main problem is that the characters are 29 and have the personalities and actions of a 21 year old college kid. Not only in their actions but also the way they talk to each other is kind of like

I could not put this one down!! I luved everything about this book! Fun storyline ✅, great characters ✅, swoony moments ✅, and great tropes ✅.
Take My Name is a steamy, second chance, cowboy romance. It's told in dual pov and follows the MCs Maisie and Warren. The audiobook is dual narrated by Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood, and the narration perfectly captures all of the banter, tension, and emotions of the book. This book read like the cowboy version of The Notebook. This book had me high on swoony vibes.
The storyline was fun, entertaining, and has a swoony MMC who earned his way onto my book hubby list. I'm a sucker for a man with a dirty mouth who can also build a house. Yummy! Cue the stomach butterflies. The well done audio narration made this book even better. Aiden and Savannah have great chemistry and were the right duo for Maisie and Warren's characters. If you are ready for your cowboy romance era, I highly recommend adding this audiobook to your TBR.
Themes & Tropes:
💜Cowboy Romance
💙Small Town
🩷 Second Chance
💜Estranged Spouses
💙High School Sweethearts
🩷My Wife
💜Piercings in the Erogenous Zones
💙Love Triangle
Overall, loved this read. ❤️

This book was everything I was craving—and then some. The audiobook wrecked me in all the best ways. Aidan Snow is a favorite narrator of mine. He and Savannah Peachwood nailed this.
It features second chances, high school sweethearts, and all the slow-burn angst that makes your heart ache in the best way possible. Throw in a cowboy with a broken heart and a heroine who's engaged to another, and I was completely captivated. Because wow, the mental chaos and chokehold they had on each other -which then rubbed off on me! Each chapter heightened the tension and the possibilities, until I was thoroughly engaged. The narration vividly brought everything to life.
Another series I am excited to follow as she writes it!
